Will they be fixing Bugs/Glitches?

It’s been a while. TU’s out, but the glitches in Reach still aren’t fixed. They’re adding features while not fixing bugs.

I haven’t seen them mention bug fixes ANYWHERE. Have any of you seen an interview where they said they’d fix Halo Reach bugs? I haven’t. They always talk about the new features they’re adding like No Bloom.

There’s an entire laundry list of actual bugs that need fixing.

*Infection Betrayal Glitch
*Armor Lock Clip Glitch that makes objective games impossible
*Gauss Hog glitch which is why gausses aren’t in matchmaking
*Only 3 content items active at a single time
*De-syncing problems with objective gametypes
*Indestructible Vehicles turns on automatically in certain objective gametypes
*Indestructible Vehicles make the driver of the vehicle INVINCIBLE, makes “King of the Warthog” style gametypes impossible because of the thing previously noted.

This is just the peak of the iceberg. This is the stuff they need to look at. The problems, like bloom, those are opinions. These are facts. These are ACTUAL problems, things bungie didn’t intend to happen, these are things that nobody can deny are issues. But instead, Microsoft is focusing on how they’re fixing opinionated problems, such as armor lock and bloom. Balancing stuff, but I’ve never seen them discuss how they’ll be fixing the actual glitches with Reach. Has anybody else?

Good list, here’s hoping 343 listen to people like you.

To be honest, I doubt many of these will be fixed, but it is nice to know there are people out there who really want to see Reach fixed, and not just people who want get rid of Bloom and AAs.

I think it’s about priorities. Not that I have any clue about 343i’s plans to tweak/fix certain core gameplay glitches.

Their choice to implement the changes that they have is an attempt to replicate CE:A’s experience in the Reach engine. While I frown upon their choice to cater to a vocal minority I understand the changes they’ve implemented thus far.

Overall, Reach operates very well considering only recently did it get a TU.

Agree with OP. These bugs need to be addressed.

May as well add to the glitch list.

In Forge World and Tempest, placing two Grids inside of hardcoded terrain and setting their physics to normal creates so much physics lag that the term “frames per second” becomes inaccurate; “seconds per frame” fits better.

The health system is very broken, and the bleed-through in the TU Beta only makes this more apparent.

Many player traits desync in Infection – most commonly waypoints on allies or forced colors.

When a Human joins an Infection game in progress, they may show up as an enemy to all players – even fellow Humans. They grant aim assist and show as red on the radar. Killing them still counts as a betrayal, but the killer doesn’t hear the announcer or see the relevant text in their kill feed.

When a Human joins just as the Last Man Standing is infected, the former LMS keeps the LMS waypoint even as a Zombie, while the joining Human gains neither a waypoint nor a medal/point.

The File Browser has a tendency to overwrite a file with another completely unrelated file of the same type. In many cases, this results in one seeing the old file in the menus, but having the new file load when the entry is selected.

The “Save” command in Forge is unintuitive if not completely broken. It can contribute to cases of the above, and it also causes problems when you jump from one Forge session directly into another; “Save” for any reason, and the new session overwrites the old map. Another big pain in the neck is that using “Save” after using “Save As New” appears to overwrite the old map, not the new one.

When loading menus of files, the File Browser is several times slower than my iPod. (A full minute versus two seconds.) This is despite the two performing the same task, Reach having all the processing power of the Xbox 360, my iPod not even being a new model, and Reach having only 17% as much content to sift through.

There is no way to directly rename files in the File Browser; you can only create new copies.

Uploads and downloads to/from File Shares are automatically paused whenever you are in a lobby with other people. This would be fine except that no indication of this behavior is given to the user.

Sometimes, when backing out of a lobby with other people, your new solitary lobby doesn’t show up. That is to say, your name does not appear in the Active Roster column, you have no control of the menu options for the current lobby, and you cannot back out. This can last anywhere from seconds to minutes and effectively leaves you “paralyzed” in the in-game menus.

Viewing a screenshot counts as a Download even if you don’t select the Download option. The download count changes accordingly, resulting in false inflation of the file’s stats.

any word on them fixing the bugs?

All I can say is, good luck even getting a word out of game creators. The best I can suggest is saying something to them on twitter and hope it is seen.

The biggest bug I hate seeing, and might be related to the desyncing, is when a match finds a new host.
I play Big Team and this has bothered me a lot. A new host is found and new vehicles spawn, let alone all the weapons.

Someone on the other team could be good at sniping, but is limited to the amount of ammo they receive. If a game reloads, they can get more ammo, or even two people on their team can have sniper rifles.
