Will there ever be a Slayer BR Playlist?

I find ar/magnum start extremely boring. Once the other team gets BRs and snipers… trying to shoot back with your sidekick is almost pointless.

I’d like to actually defend myself. All other halo games had this. Can we please have it in infinite?

It already exists in Halo Infinite. Just without shields.

Asking for the HCS Playlist in Infinite however… considering how little respect 343 shows the actual HCS league, I dunno if they would even humor the idea.
Sure they have the skins and bundles, but that is something they profit from.

I’m not trying to play swat it’s boring…

I’ve been playing since 04. I barely ever play swat but when i do i go like 25-5. Then i get messages saying I’m a cheater.

I just want slayer br.

We all do want Slayer BR.

However I have severe doubts that this game is going to have a long lifetime, or at least long enough for 343 to add it to the game.

I mean how hard can it be to add a single Playlist to the game lol? I’ve got friends that are only plat rank and they just want to play slayer br.

It’s about time to just give the fans what they want. Simple Slayer br Playlist.

A lot of the times I’ll hop on after work and get launch site ar pistol and just quit out and get off because it’s so bad

This is something that 343 has had a strong repulsion from doing, with interviews from the past decade having actual devs stating “Players don’t know what they want. We are going to provide what we believe that the players would actually want.
Hence why the design choices of the past decade have been controversial and problematic for the past decade.

And though Halo Infinite is their first legitimate attempt at giving players what they wanted, the final product just seems to show that the absolute bare minimum of effort was put into development of the game itself; seeing as we are a year post-launch and the game is still very much at a level of content and quality that makes it feel more like an early-beta.

While i agree with your assessment of 3v4 industries lol my point still stands. I want unranked slayer br lol.

Halo 2 released in 04 with like 8 ranked playlists. While that’s an entirely different subject…aka give players something to grind for except ranked arena…

343 just give us social br slayer for the love of God. Please.

There’s BR loadout (without Sidekick tho, for whatever the reason) under Slayer playlist for quite some time, which to my personal experience happens on 8-9 on 10 games while AR loadout is basically impossible to get outside Slayer in Quick Play playlist.

both br starts only and ar/sk starts are boring. i like every weapon but theyre just bad combos or lack of a combo

This is so needed and i remember sayining this also .

For those serious player that wanna get warm before going into a rank its essential and a natural progession!
No disrespect towards 343i here but i am so suprised we are having to ask for this very obviouse playlist way over due …

Getting warm against bots just aint the same and actualy plays more of a deceptive and negative roll its just crazy where are a AAA esport game can we please reflect that image and be true to what Halo is .

Team Slayer BR start would be lovely. I think that with how the sandbox is, a BR start would help to balance and give a better 50/50 win rate for everyone.

This is the repecution of devs doing somthing that did not want unfortuntaly !

Again its these H3 die hard fans that should also be held respnsible for the outcome of this game !
Just let them be adventurus and creative and make something they truely want also we have to trust in them and not be a burden on the whole project.

Im sure they know what we want by now !

Just not somthing that devs wanted from a AAA esport game no direction only the fans input it seems!
No real indepth plan theres only so much we can all do from over here lol

You can tell allot of staff where not happy the way the game was being runned! so its nothing to do with our input but a lack of care and love at 343i for what ever reason we will never know.

We just need to recover from the madness.

Why hold the consumer responsible for the folly of the producer?
That is like blaming a driver of a vehicle for an accident that was clearly caused by car that is about to be recalled due to terrible engineering.

That is what resulted in Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians.
Two games with unnecessary drastic art style shifts, sound design shifts, and gameplay core alterations.

While Halo 4 possessed a good primary story, Spartan-Ops was mediocre and rather pointless in the end while the multiplayer PvP dynamics led to the game being the worst in terms of consistent player counts.

Meanwhile Halo 5 featured a story that was not as advertised and a multiplayer loop that was fairly descent in Arena but blatantly pay-to-win in WarZone.

Oh we do know the reasons.
Early in 343’s lifetime it was established that they would be refusing to hire ex-members of Bungie and avoiding halo fans when it came to employment opportunity. They even went out of their way to recruit people who didn’t like Halo or had never played Halo.
Frank O’Connor, the then Franchise Director of the studio, stated that this was done in order to bring in new ideas and break tradition; with the end goal being to show that they were a more-than-capable studio that could be entrusted with the franchise.

This was entirely counter-productive.
You are making a game in one of the most revered franchises of the past decade.
A franchise that has been consistent in both gameplay and player-count popularity.
Basically it is popular and it works with nary a complaint.
Despite this, they wanted to “break tradition” to show that they weren’t just some copycat wannabes.
Which led to Halo 4 looking nothing, sounding nothing, and playing nothing like the previous entries.
It should not be a surprise that there was a lot of backlash.

To put it simply, they wanted to prove themselves so much that they were overthinking everything and over-did it. And when the consumers cried out, they seemingly ignored us when it came to 80% of the complaints and did the bare minimum to ensure that Halo 5 did not have the player count die off quickly.
And so Halo 5 went back to an Arena style of multiplayer and heavily upgrade forge. But when it came to everything else, they decided to double-down on many of the issues fan’s brought up; and continued to lie to their consumers with the marketing.

Indeed we do.
We definitely need Microsoft to go over 343 Industries with a fine-toothed comb in order to set things straight and get rid of many of the counter-intuitive inner-policies that stand in the way of development of their flagship mascot franchise.

And yeah, a Slayer BR playlist should’ve been in by default.
This “live-service” tag is just an excuse to be lazy IMO considering it is almost no effort to simply toggle one in place. By making this game “live-service” it means that every season needs to have a meaningful amount of new stuff to add every three months that is actually 6 and 9 months.

Yes but we are names on the insurance policy lol so we are also driving! not just them anyways i just want the game to truly reflect what we all want .

The point of my analogy is you do not blame the driver of the vehicle for the crash when said crash was caused by a fault with the design of the wheel mounts causing the wheels to literally snap off and roll away on their own.

We are not in control of what the designers do. We are only in control of what we can do with said final product. If the final product is unsatisfactory and cannot even perform the function it was designed for reliably, then why bother pointing blame on the consumer for filing a legitimate concern?
(poorly designed cars crash due to faults of engineering and poorly designed games crash due to faults of their programming).

Sorry @Shnxgg , didn’t mean to reply to you directly - tried to erase my response, but still leaves that I replied to you. My bad homie’

@RamboBambiBambo would you be able to tell me where you found the quote for:

Players don’t know what they want. We are going to provide what we believe that the players would actually want.

I do remember reading/hearing it somewhere, just having trouble finding where specifically, when I try and search for it*

I would have asked in the other thread, but thought it would be better to ask here haha; given the my response isn’t as large :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I remember you saying it came from a dev in Halo 4
