Will there be paid DLC in the future?

343 has done a great job providing free content every month, which has helped maintain the player base. I think it will only grow as more content gets added in the future. My question is after the last free update this summer; will there be paid DLC going forward, and what will that content consist of? Or will they just let it ride after the summer updates till Halo 6?

Most likely there won’t be any paid DLC, all free. 343 doesn’t want to devide the player base like pevious Halos.

I thought they mentioned that it will only be free till the end of June.

meh seeing as though they have premium paid req pack offers that have a chance to unlock really special gear and rare certifications, they have already divided the fanbase in that regard.

you’re getting same level dlc as paid for free. stop complaining that you cant waste money.

If you’re asking for paid dlc ask for more campaign

I really doubt it. We might get more special REQs (like the HCS ones)

I have no idea where people got this information, because no one will tell me & when I try to find it myself all I find is “Free DLC for Spring/Summer 2016” which ends in June.

I’m 100% sure they’ll add more content to Halo 5 after the summer. They don’t want this game to die in just one year. Will there be paid DLC? I don’t think so, but I’ve seen 343i do questionable things so don’t get your hopes too high. But honestly I’m also curious to see what 343i decides to do, keep the community together or divide it for paid DLC?

All DLC will most likely be free i hihgly doubt they will change this after the summer based on all the money they are raking in on reqs and the praise they are getting for free dlc. kinda makes games like destiny and cod games look bad for charging for their DLC with their req systems

I agree with that, otherwise the game will die till Halo 6. I’m curious as to what content they could add.

So not having the same cosmetic weapon/armor skin that only effects your look & nothing else = not being able to play with half the player base because you haven’t purchased one of the paid DLC? Ok then.

The stripped content downloads marked as free dlc will end in June so if they start charging for dlc then it’ll be around June or after.

Probably just more free updates until Halo 6 gets closer to coming out. It might slow down a bit when Halo Wars 2 comes out, I would think.

I’d say there is always the possibility that they may have DLC that they charge for. But if people continue to buy their REQ packs, then there is also that chance that more free DLC may still come.

I could be totally off on this. But I remember reading something on here that said it was until June. Now after that I don’t think they will be doing monthly updates, but more like content updates every other or so. I don’t think they are going to charge for them to be honest because I don’t think they want their player base to be vastly split between those who have and those who haven’t.
The other side of me says they’re all a bunch of corporate greedy -Yoinks!-, who will do anything to make a quick buck and they will charge 10 USD for a content update of two forge maps and an “exclusive” game mode of infection because “reasons”.

I hope the later of the two doesn’t happen, but only time will tell

When it al come down to it, I think everyone can agree it is better to have paid quality of maps over quantity of crap items and cosmetics that everyone is just going to be drooling over

I don’t think so.

Not really, you can get anything through points that you can buy so no division of players at all. Not to mention everyone can play on the same maps.
