Will there be lobby chat?

One thing that I miss was pre game and after game lobby chat. I always enjoyed the competitive talk and being able to stay in the lobby and have a good rematch. Plus, it seems that not many people use mics now which sucks if you are alone and can’t make proper callouts. So, what do you think? Bring it back or leave it out? I want it.

I miss the banter.

I always loved when moms could be heard in the background screaming haha

Pre- and post-game chatter is a real double-edged sword. Sometimes it could be fairly light-hearted and funny and that was always great fun and really added to the whole Halo experience. But just as often it could be corrosive, toxic, hateful, pick whatever politically correct term you want. I guess there’s a fine line between talking smack and behaving like a complete and utter -Yoink!-. So, in the end, I guess I could go either way depending on how psychologically fragile I might be feeling at any given moment. But as you pointed out, who even uses a mic anymore???

Only people in parties. But then you can’t hear the lobby chat…

It is a lot more fun in casual modes when people are talking. You could always mute people if you don’t like their behavior.

I don’t disagree. There are many times that the younger and unskilled players can be bullied. One could only hope that there are more players that can help defend and protect those that are being bullied by actually saying something or by reporting the ones causing the damage. I just miss the chat and light hearted community that used to be around. There is another place for the extremely competitive crowd.

i sure do miss the pregame talks/craptalks.

I hope so.

I sure hope so. I have a mic and wants to be used, it needs to fulfill it’s purpose.

Lol you’re goofy.

I hope lobby chat returns.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to have an in game setting that would allow it or turn it off?

Pre-game chat is still there.

You mean the mute option?

Well, there is a difference to muting a single player or the whole lobby don’t you think?

To your team only. Before you could talk to everyone right until the game started.

No, I mean the mute option on the Dashboard. I’d say that most people who prefer no game chat would have toggled it off. But as far as a dedicated in-game option, I see no reaon why 343 wouldn’t offer something to the likes of the Reach social options.

I’m certain that I heard a red player talking to his team whilst I was on blue team, last time I played TS… Unless he was on my team and decided to remove his mic just as the game began.

In Halo 3 there was an option to search for other players with mics on
I miss that

Yeah, there is that Dashboard one; I forgot. I just remember it most from H2 personally. You would think that more people used mics and wanted to hear call outs also. I guess that’s me.
