Has 343i talked about it? I remember getting into matches in Halo 4 with a losing team when it was already almost over, and it was annoying, will it be in Halo 5 or not? I hope not.
Maybe its annoying, but if no one left a game we wouldn’t have problems. They should, because in H2A ranked all my team left and it was 2v5 so I had to deal with 8 minutes of repeated death because no one could join to help.
Gawd I hope not!!
they returned the game back to balanced teams with equal starts. True arena experience. No way would someone want to potential start a game at a disadvantage (losing team).
Could you imagine playjng a ranked playlist, only to get thrown into the early stages of a game where the enemy has power weapkns/map controll or join a game with 1 min left on the clock? Hell no…
Though I guess if they plan to do it…keep it in a social/community playlist. Or a specific playlist of its own…
I’m fine with it in Social, but it shouldn’t be in Ranked. Instead they should dish out harsher penalties for quitting in Ranked games. One thing being you lose rank and maybe even some progression towards armor unlocks. Another being you get kicked from Ranked for a specific period of time depending on how often you leave matches.
I dont understand how this community simultaneously hates join in progress while also hatting people who quit games and uneven starts (you know what helps remedy quitter and unbalanced teams? Join in progress).
Personally I think that Join in progress should only place you in games where the opposing players are significantly lower ranked then the person joining. If I am going to join a game that is half over, on a losing team, I better be the highest skilled player there. If the burden for victory is being placed on my back, fine, but give me a realistic chance to overthrow the opposing team.

I don’t hate people who quit games. I personally think things like quit-bans are stupid as -Yoink-. I never saw quitting as a huge issue. I’ve played many games where a large portion of my team quit and I either managed to win or at least give the other team a hard time. And besides, nothing’s stopping you from quitting too.
JIP is a horrible idea and it should have never been brought to Halo in the first place. The majority of people who quit do it because they’re getting ROFLstomped by the other team and don’t want to stick around. The people who join in progress then have to deal with cleaning up the previous player’s mess and chances are will lose due to no fault of their own.
You know what I’d do if I got put in a game where I’m losing horribly? Quit.
Hopefully. It’s the only way to solve the quitting problem. They did it well in the ranked playlists in Halo 4 with only joining at the beginning.
For social playlists they could just make it (for objective games at least) to be you can only join before someone scores.
Please add JIP, playing games without it is pretty much unbearable.

I hope it does jk lol
I hope it is but with tweaks. I noticed you mentioned joining in losing matches. Respawn Entertainment introduced a feature into Titanfall in which if you joined a losing game, it wouldn’t affect you W/L ratio, if you lost. This obviously won’t help with a brutalization from the enemy team, but it’s something. I think there also should be a cut off after so much time, or points are scored in a match.
This feature does good and bad. It really sucks when you suddenly go 1-2 spartans down in Team Slayer. It helps that new spartans can be brought in. But sometimes that team you jin is filled with people who simply don’t understand Halo.
It’s a good question to pose whether or not this should be in the game knowing what good and bad it can do.
Joining games in progress is really annoying get rid of it. I get some people who are in a game where everybody quit would like some help but its not fair to the person joining to get spawned killed over and over and take a Loss.
Didn’t Halo 4 have JIP? After spending $10 for Titanfall this black friday and trying out the game, I don’t see why they can’t just emulate that. I don’t want to wait around all day to play. Even Halo 2/3 was so archaically slow compared to how quick you can get into most shooters released today that have JIP. Kind of like with unlimited sprint… 343 needs to modernize certain things, and this would help.
