I am refering to a kind of Classic playlist for people who don’t want to fight for Ordinance drops and want good ol fashion Murdering. All this flashy new stuff is why I don’t touch COD anymore and it just seems that is the way Halo is evolving.
most of the playlists wont actually have ordinance drops, just certain supporting gametypes like infinity slayer with is completely different from good ol’ team slayer which is still going to be in halo 4
I’m pretty sure there will be a stripped-down “Barebones” playlist. Although it hasn’t really been confrimed. But it’s highly likely due to all the hints we are getting.
I am pretty certain that there will be a more classic playlist in the mix. I am not so certain the game will debut with it.
OK now I am less worried then before about this game. I hate Halo Reach with a passion til 343 did that patch where Armor Lock isn’t god mode and its balanced but too little too late. I hope Halo 4 hits the ground running or it will fall to COD. Its inevitable.
Its still Halo, looks fun to me so far.
Yeah i’m pretty sure they(343i) stated we were getting a Classic Playlist.
Halo Reach had a classic playlist. No AAs, no loadouts, all on map remakes almost exactly like those in the games before, down to little details. An exact copy of Halo 2 or 3 gameplay.
Nobody played it and they took it down.

Halo will always have a community online, and you shouldn’t let the fact that COD has more players than Halo irritate you.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that!

Yeah, I played it a couple times. It felt so stiff and slow compared to normal Reach gameplay, I just left it alone.
People can say whatever they want about Reach’s “lack of competitiveness”, it was still much faster and exciting than H2 or 3.
Veteran playlist would be misleading name. Barebones would be better.
It’s so true! Sniff

no, no and no.
the origional classic playlist in reach was trying to re-create the gameplay of halo CE, it had nothing but CE re-makes and no AAs what so ever, the major problem was that it still suffered from the problems that made reach bad at the time and didn’t have the correct weapon mechanics available to re-create the gameplay.
needle rifle did not accurately represent the 3sk magnum, nor did the 5sk magnum, bloom removed the precision accuracy and the movement acceleration just ruined strafing, all these things combined completely ruined any hope of some decent gameplay making the classic playlist a horrible place to visit which is why nobody played it.
now, how ever we have a true classic playlist thanks to the TU and CEA map pack, it’s doing a lot better because the gameplay more accurately reflects CE gameplay and the maps are near exact remakes with colour, so a classic playlist will be played as long as the gameplay accurately reflects the gameplay it is trying to emulate.
I thought you meant a type of Veteran Playlist where the only way you could enter is if you had a 50 or something in Halo 3 or something, but I hope they have something like that.
Yes, there’ll be classic playlists in Halo 4 WHICH are designed for Halo 4. When they were making this, they took, both, classic gameplay into mind and the new gameplay into mind, so it’ll be much more successful than Reach’s classic playlist.
And for your information, OP, ordnance drops are ONLY in Infinity Slayer.
