I just find it weird that it has a number as well as a subtitle…
I feel like Halo 5 was split into 2 games hence the story feeling incomplete…343 moving it from a trilogy to a “Saga” also supports this…
This is the first game in the main series to use a number as well as a subtitle as far as I know…Its Halo 5: Guardians but where is the other Halo 5?..
It blows my mind
I think Halo 5 will be getting an Halo 3:ODST with Halo 5 being Halo 3…But not called ODST of course…
I’m hoping for a Halo 5: Swords or something like thats where you play as the Arbiter during the Sangheli civil war. The 4-player part of the campaign could be filled with 'Rtas Vadum and those two elites that were players 3 and 4 from Halo 3’s campaign.
I’m pretty sure the use of a number and a subtitle wasn’t meant to indicate that there will be multiple Halo 5 titles. Rather, it appears to be a transitional step toward having future Halo games referred to by title, and not by number. Bonnie Ross has already said that she wants to move away from numbering future Halo games and that, if she’d had her way, Halo 4 wouldn’t have been called that.
Think of it this way, Halo 5-7 are three acts to a play, halo 5 was the opening act, halo 6 will be the core, it will answer some questions while at the same time providing questions, than halo 7 would/should answer them all and wrap it up in a nice little bow. Kind of like the star wars trilogy (original)
It might, but look at CoD. CoD 4: Modern Warfare. Yes that has a saga but the next game was just CoD: MW2. So sure it could mean a saga, but Halo always follows the same story line anyways (as opposed to CoD which has 3 devs and 3 different story lines.)

Her reason for not wanting to number them is retarded. “We’re not Final Fantasy”, so what, only Final Fantasy can have numbered games? Ridiculous, this also isn’t Call of Duty or Destiny yet they threw stuff in from those games. I’d much rather have them copy numbering games from Final Fantasy than idiotic game mechanics from “modern” shooters.
Well, considering the message 343i displays at the end of the campaign that reads “See you on Sangheliois.” I’d say it’s a possibility. Too bad we have to wait til E3 2017 to find out

So, what, Halo 4 was just an irrelevant side story that meant nothing? Because that is actually provable sadly enough.
Its just that gap between Halo 4 and 5… So weird, but then again there was a weird gap between Halo 1 and 2 right? But it was explained. However, the gap was not explained for Halo 4 and 5. Besides Halo escalation and spartan ops. I just don’t think it was enough. Well the novels too.
I hope putting subtitles after the number doesn’t become a trend for 343. I’ll forgive them this one time, but if they try to pull that -Yoink- again i won’t be happy.

Lol thats sad but true.
Interesting thought OP. I’d be down for a second Halo 5 story.
