Casual players will leave, new FPS games coming (BF3, COD MW3). and GOW 3
Some halo fans will come back, some wont.
But i think Reach will die soon.
what you think?

People think that Halo is just a fad, but I think it’s more than that. If people would open their creativity and stick to game they like and stay entitled to their own opinions instead of just moving on to what their friends say is great. I guess it all just goes down to peer pressure about what will happen to Halo: Reach during the TU. It’s also up to the community to spread the good word. This is Ninjaman3250 saying stay in the shadows.
Reach can stay Reach, simple as that. There is just that part of the comunity that love default settings (may you grow a new brain and preferences over the next few months)
The Title Update will make the game Halo. It has to be better (not worse) than the games standard offerings.
On a side note, the server quality has been going down and picking REALLY bad hosts. It’s not just me is it?
Also those that say is dead are completely and utterly stupid. Sorry but that’s about the nicest anyone could say it and not be offensive.
It’s not a matter of saving. Even if Reach had launched as a decent game, it would still suffer population hits from all these new games coming out. The TU might bring back Halo players if they grow bored of said new games, but not take us back to September 2010 populations.
The title Update should have happened months ago. The chance to bring back the majority of players who left because of Reach has passed. Why? Modern Warfare 3, Battlfield 3, Skyrim, and more. Anniversary will bring back some players since its an actual “Halo” game and because its Halo: CE, as for the TU, I doubt the population will rise above 175,000 players.
I doubt Halo will ever be the #1 game again. Even with the release of Halo 4, I doubt we’d have a chance. Since 2001, the average gamer has changed drastically and it’s the reason games like CoD are doing so well.
As you know, Halo Reach is slowly dying and the games being released this year wont help.
Reach’s hourly population has been descending since September '10 and its continuing every new game release.
There are too few changes being made now after 1 year of being out- the much needed TU to changes made to Reach that should’ve never been made (Sword block, randy bloom, AAs) Anniversary will/could help since its the first new maps we’ve seen since March 15th, but the population will never be the same.
Too much was changed and too little was done, Reach may be dying before your eyes and I have mixed feelings about such.
Yeah, I hate Reach, with a flaming, burning passion, but its Halo without the Halo.
Oh well, its funny to think that Bungie doesnt even have to worry about that anymore since they gave Halo up.
Tis, Tis.
What could have been the best, was changed, neglected, and abused (not literaly).
RIP: Reach
Opinions?
No, not even Halo: Anniversary will. I think Reach will be setting at 120,000 unique players at a time for the rest of it’s lifespan.
Reach will still be here until Halo 4. Not like it’s doing that great anyway.
Rest in pieces loldefaultreach.
Welcome back Halo.
The title update will improve this game. Fact.
However, whether this game needed to be saved is up for debate. It’s not like the population ever reached 80 or below (loloverikillsteamclassicplaylist). In fact the game’s population is only low in the mornings or late at night (you know people have things called jobs and school). It’s pretty consistent otherwise.

Compared to Halo 3 or even other games it’s a sad population. It caps at 120,000 players at a time.

I don’t know, I think COD will die just a little before Halo 4 cuz COD just doesn’t introduce much. It’s the same game just with new weapons and maps and now with MW3’s survival mode. I’m pretty sure with every COD game after WaW used the same engine except imroved a little. I say don’t worry. The COD fanboys will eventually notice and lose interest leaving nothing to stop Halo. All that has to be done is allow casual players to have their fun and competitive to have theirs and Halo shall resume it’s rightful place at the top.

We must play at different times, then.
I’ve seen it up to 150k recently. Highest I’ve seen it since launch.
The TU will help Reach, but not by a lot. The ranking system was a major key element in Halo Matchmaking. It seperated social players from serious competitive players. Obviously both players had the option to convert to playing social slayer or ranked team slayer, which is what made the whole matchmaking system fun. Today, Halo Reach still fails to bring in any new ranked playlists. The Arena still stands as the only ranked playlist and the population in that playlist is dropping. This is because no changes have made in the past 6 months.
343i needs to recognize this problem and hopefully fix it in the near future, if not then in Halo 4 at least!
How can it die if it’s an inanimate object?
a friend of mine awaits the TU effects to play Reach again.
> How can it die if it’s an inanimate object?
like lol
but i can see the down hill slope of Reach, but with a new game behind the new series, (only similarity is the character) Halo 4 is starting fresh, no covenant none of the same missions, its new, im sure that will cause alot of happiness when it comes out,
to answer the original question, in part yes, in another no
There is a span of teenagers (no out of collage) who will have a 50/50 chance of even HEARING about Halo CEA, those were the original fanboys lol, but people after that time, born in the middle and early 1990’s, still probably have their xbox, so yes, im sure they will come back atleast for a littlebit, but Reach needs to only survive for another year and a half, till the next game comes out, im sure it will not dip under 100,000 population till then, even IF new games are coming out. People will also be playing CEA, (now being a BF fan i may play that quite a bit but Halo is my number 1 game played ever…of all time)
Hope i answered for alot of people.

I just want Halo 4 to come out.
I wish the release date was early-mid 2012 until holiday 2012.
It’ll save it from a technical and gameplay standpoint: I’ll actually WANT to play Matchmaking again, and the MLG players will have their competitive Halo back.
I doubt it’ll do much to raise the population, though. There will be an influx with the release of Halo CEA, but it’d have to be damn good to keep player’s attention over the holiday.
