As it’s definitely a possibility considering HW2 takes place after Halo 5 that the UNSC Spirit of Fire will run into the UNSC Infinity or vice versa. So what would happen if this happened? Well most likely the Infinity would adopt the Spirit of Fire crew into the Infinity’s and we would see classic ODSTs, Marines, and Spartans fighting along side the new Marines and Spartans in the next Halo game. Yeah this was a quick post but I wanted to speak my theory on what might happen in HW2.

The game has been confirmed to take place after Halo 5 so it is quite possible that the SoF will run into the Infinity. I would rather see the SoF run into Cortana first. She can lie to them and say how humanity lost the war or something, I think that would be a lot more interesting.
I’d love to see the look on their faces if they saw Infinity.

It might. Maybe the Infinity will end up at the Ark when it completes its emergency slipspace jump (as seen at the end of Halo 5). If this happens, I’d be so happy.

No, there’s a panel in the Escalation series where it briefly shows The SoF in orbit around a green planet. The ship is evacuated and a single flood spore goes across the page.
This was believed to be at the same time Lord Hood wonders what happened to SoF, but someone said it was at a later time, so it’s post HW2 which means SoF won’t be destroyed in HW2. So they do get from the Ark. Which makes sense because HW2 is a direct sequel to HW1, albeit with 28 years in between and thet have all been in cryosleep during that time.
So, given the information that HW2 takes place after Halo 5, and the SoF later drifts around a green planet. It is entirely possible that the SoF and her crew managed to get back in contact with humanity again, perhaps even the Infinity. Heck, maybe they even show up mid-story in HW2 and Laskey is one commander.

In fact I would not be surprised if it plays out exactly like that scene. 
Realistically i dont think any Halo Wars Characters will run into anything from Halo 5. And to be honest I dont think it would incorporate well with what the Halo Wars 2 story should and/or will be.

So they set the game post Halo 5 but don’t want any cross over?
The Infinity is still a maybe, but that’s more about whether they want to include the Spirit in Halo 6.
But, I’d be really surprised if Cortana and the Warden don’t make an appearance in HW2. Why else would 343 be talking about “the state of the galaxy” in Halo Wars 2 if they’re not going to work the Created and Prometheans into the narrative? Wouldn’t that imply that Halo 5’s after credits scene is actually as much a teaser for Halo Wars 2 as Halo 6?
If by “should”, you mean it should be as different from Halo 5 as possible, then why would 343 explicitly make a big deal of it being post Halo 5? IMO its probably because they know a lot of people didn’t like the cliffhangers so they are kind of continuing the story with this game. If they wanted a self contained separate adventure they wouldn’t have set it post Halo 5.

Exactly what I was thinking! My brother had told me what if during the Infinity’s continuous slipspace jumps that they run into the Spirit of Fire halfway through HW2’s campaign?
I think the legendary ending to halo wars 2 will be the infinity coming out of slip space then the spirit of fire approaches and then boards and ends with Lasky saying “this might just save us”. then like halo follower or hidden Xperia say the spirits inventory might not be affected by the guardians. So in Halo 6 its The spirit of fire, team Osiris,blue team, the swords of sangelios and the infinity vs Cortana and the Promethean’s/created and then the two fighting atriox and the banished if there not killed in HW2 because I doubt atriox will want to serve Cortana. what do you guys think?
It’s certainly possible given the known Active UNSC Ships. Given that we’ll likely see assets and vessels from unaffected worlds contributing, Vessels in interstellar space. Likely that they’d gather the various active UNSC Vessels together. Spirit of Fire would be a bit of a wildcard in the mix in my opinion, given that it’s a troop lander and prefab base builder type vessel. I recall some of the content from HW implying that the Spirit of Fire had fabrication capability. In addition to the sheer fact that from Cortana’s standpoint that ship will effectively come out of left field

I’m really hoping spirit of fire doesn’t get taken over by the flood or something…Its my favorite ship man XD
This would be a good plot… maybe this has been considered as an option for Halo 6 even? maybe we’ll see SoF crew mixing in with or apart of the Halo 6 Story… pending if Jerome isn’t the last spartan standing by the end of Halo Wars 2… Maybe we’ll get to do a Story selection for Halo 6 where we choose between Red Team, Blue Team, Osris, and maybe Crimson?

I feel like they have too, cortanna is probably going to activate the halo rings so the infinity has to stop that by going to the ark which just happens to be when the spirit of fire comes in already fighting the banished on the ark
