Will The Series X Be The Last Xbox?

I was wondering if the Series X will be it. It’s sad for a previous generation to get left behind again.

What? No, PC gaming and Xbox consoles make up the primary userbase of the Xbox ecosystem. If they stopped making consoles, the reach that the ecosystem will have will diminish irreparably.

Mobile being cloud based has its own drawbacks and not everyone can afford a coked-up gaming rig, making consoles the bang-for-your-buck long-term investment powerhouse moneymaker.

I don’t think so! I think the best is yet to come. Imagine Xbox X-quality graphics, audio, and gameplay, but in VR?… :eyes::fire: Literally playing firsthand as Master Chief out here lol

Series X will only be the last xbox if its sales tank so heavily that microsoft sees no reason to continue in the console market.

A console is effectively just a computer, and computers will continue to get more and more powerful. New ways will be found to deliver higher performance and visuals.

Just as people buy/build new pcs to handler newer software, new consoles will continue to be made.

vr would be awesome gun raiders is pretty fun as far as vr fps goes. the only huge issue i could see is people getting motion sickness. we have an occulus 2 and some games just make you sick. It would be fun but definately not for everyone. I dont ever think vr will take over the gaming world just due to that large issue within the gaming community but it would be amazing to play infinite in VR for those who can hadle it.

I seen some Pc players pushing Halo to abandon Xbox on the forms saying Halo can never be big again on a Xbox it need to made for Pc.

we need Mark VI Mjolnir VR helmets, and Xbox series x just isn’t up to the task. the software is present, but series x is ready for a hardware upgrade.

I highly doubt they’ll abandon an entire console market. MS has been out buying developers and trying to get exclusive rights to other popular titles, they aren’t showing any intention of allowing this to be it by their own actions. In some countries the console has equal sales to the PS. They’ll be around at least another generation, IMO.

My understanding is that consoles are preferable in terms of game development and the casual gaming community - that and of course mobile. You have always been able to create PC’s or purchase them that will out perform consoles but thats simply one metric of comparrison.

Your xbox is plug and play, which encorporates overarching features that makes them easy for just about anyone to use. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to use steam or any other launcher but its simply not the same experience or envioronment even.

I play many pc titles but I hope that an xbox will always find its way into being the center piece of my living room entertainment system, delivering gaming and media to the comfort of my couch. I think many people feel the same way and will continue to buy them

Exactly this. I have a gaming PC and all the consoles as they all offer different experiences and can be used in different ways. As you said, a console you plug in and go through a simple setup and it’s ready to go. I think some people tend to forget that people want to lounge on a couch, load up a game and just have a good time/relax for a bit.

Current sales of the newest consoles seem to be fine despite all the supply chain issues so I wouldn’t imagine this would be the last gen by any stretch of the imagination.

Probably not. But the next one will probably have a better name. lol

… Probably.

No they’ll have many more systems.

Given the disaster infinite seems to be on PC, I dont think thats happening any time soon.

No? im pretty sure games are gonna get more and more ambitious and need powerful systems to run them, also idk about but i think the series x still isn’t powerful enough it still struggles with mcc at times.

they had a 500 million dollar budget and it’s just as crap on pc, the console isn’t the problem it’s who ever decides where that money goes.

i heard that they dont want console “generations” anymore. but instead offer better hardware that though are still compatible to all versions back to the xbox one , where developers can if they see the need , develop titles exclusive for certain hardware sets or go into compromise. basicly they want to treat xbox like pc hardware.
