Will the Reclaimer Trilogy be as grounded as the previous trilogy?

Something about the upcoming trilogy has been puzzling me for a while now. I hadn’t been quite able to pinpoint it until now, and I’d like to share my small puzzlement with the community here.

Ok, so of course, Halo’s a sci-fi shooter. Totally unrealistic, and I certainly can’t hate on the franchise for being “unrealistic”, as all the anti-Halo gamers describe it. Well, of course it is. But it’s always felt believable. You know? Grounded somewhat in what could be. There’s never really been anything too far out, in my opinion.

And now, as we embark on another journey, I can’t shake this feeling that Halo 4, 5 and 6 are going to be vastly different games. Not that they shouldn’t be, mind you, but for reasons that have really hooked me into Halo’s immersive storyline. With Cryptum and Primordium out, as well as Glasslands, we get a lot of solid information tipped upside down that was previously set in stone. New concepts have been explored and revealed, such as the geas and the… uh… for lack of a better term, “the spirit imprint”. I mean, I knew the Forerunners were vastly superior in regards to technology, but some things have really been difficult for me to get my head around.

I guess the point that I’m trying to make is, that The Reclaimer Trilogy’s taking place far away from human watches (unless I’m wrong). Far away from our industrial norms, far away from anything we’ve ever been used to. Will it feel the same as the former trilogy? Will it have that grounded feel to it? Or are we in for an experience that’s on a completely different level?

i think they ( 343 ) needs to be very carful with halo 4 if you don’t do anything new you end up with a halo game but it won’t be as a succes as the other halo games

like bungie says ( we want to do somting new ) if you change halo until it isen’t halo anymore i dont think the community will like it

start the new trilogy the same way like they started halo combat evolved new and epic but they didn’t trow the story in our face let the story be big so you can learn things if you want to but dont make it so big that if you dont know the entire story it will be less fun to play

you can play any halo game now and enjoy it without knowing the story of the books and the media

that is how halo 4 must be let the basis be known but let the learning be new

> Form what we’ve seen so far, I’m guessing it won’t be too futuristic. The Infinity still looks like most other UNSC ships and the weapon MC uses at the start of the first trailer looks more like a grenade launcher than some laser weapon.

> If the Forerunners or Precursors make it into the game, we can expect it to be like when we first experienced Halo CE. Sure it’ll seem weird at first, but we’ll get used to it. The Needler for example, wasn’t like anything I could have guessed before, yet it became a familiar sight - it wasn’t so strange anymore. Expect everything to seem strange at first glance.

> This is actually a chance for 343i to make Halo much more on par with other Sci-fi games, movies, etc. They can make better calculations for each weapon and make it more of what we’d expect a civilization to be using in +/- 500 years.

You answered much better than I could. I think this thread is over already!
