Just wanted to know if anybody thinks that the Prophets might return in Halo 5 or at some other point. I think they might show up because they are an endangered species, and with all this Forerunner tech starting to show up they might think it might help them to survive. Plus they have proven to know a lot about the tech as well, which could create some interesting scenarios for future plot.
Zo Resken, the former Prophet of Clarity first introduced in the 2014 novel Halo: Broken Circle, has the best chance of appearing in a game that seems to focus heavily on the Sangheili like Guardians. Resken aligned himself with the Sangheili with the outbreak of the Great Schism and found the lost Ussan colony at the Refuge still populated by the descendants of the exodus. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he becomes a central figure in the Haloverse in the future.
I could very well imagine a covy splinter group formed by a san shayum that still believed in the journey and has a whole bunch of followers…that still believed in the journey
They could come back. In Glasslands it mentions that they are in hiding and took a lot of engineers with them. Jul M’Dama believes them to still be a huge threat to the galaxy.

I wouldn’t be surprised either if Zo Resken became more of a central figure. The Refuge must mean something to the elites that were not part of the Ussans as well, since it is basically the remains of a partially functioning shield world which is most likely very under protected. Meaning any faction like Juls could find it and use what’s left to help there cause.

Not only that, but the Refuge would be regarded as living history for the Sangheili who lived under Covenant rule. It’s a look into their origins as a free people without the weight of heresy clouding their vision. The Ussans are a self-sustaining society that thrived according to Sangheili ideals. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to consider that it’s what the Sangheili in the midst of the Great Schism have been looking for all this time.

I think canonically it would be possible, but I don’t think they will go that direction. The prophets to many represent the unification of the Covenant. I think 343i is trying to get away from fighting the Covenant in the traditional manner.
If you mean San-Shyum by prophets, then hopefully yes. The Prophets are all but gone once the Covenant fell. Its more likely to see them in written media than the game though, they don’t have any real importance anymore
I only see Truth, Mercy and Regret returning as a part of another gravemind and they are attatched to its tenticles, or 3 severed heads attatched on to tenticles.
Thats only if the flood return.
But Truth was the best villain, hes so manipulative, I love him. But His Halo 2 voice was alot better than his Halo 3 voice.

I have to disagree. While they are really falling quickly in number, population and physical strength were never factors regarding the prophets. What made them s strong was there knowledge and ability to influence other species. I hope to see them leading a major faction or maybe even unite the covenant remnants under one banner.

Ugh Truth was ruined in Halo 3. He went from a cunning, manipulative, and vicious leader to an insane, egotistical -Yoink!-.
Well there were other prophets mentioned in Contact Harvest such as the Prophet of Restraint, Tolerance and Obligation. Also from other Halo novels there is the Prophet of Fortitude (from Blood Line), Prophet of Stewardship (The Flood), Prophet of Supposition (Conversations from the Universe a booklet from Halo 2’s Limited Collector’s Edition)
According to Halo’s wiki pages there are no mentions of any of their deaths, so who knows some of these guys could make an appearance or any new ones 343 may bring in.
