Now, as much as I have been enjoying Warzone Firefight, one thing has been annoying me; where is the Plasma Rifle we saw from the trailer?
The Brute Plasma Rifle is seen in the trailer ( 0:46, you may need to slow it down to see it) and I was wonder a few things today:
Will we ever get it in Halo 5? - If not, why did 343i place it in the trailer? - If we are going to receive it, when?But, the Halo lore doesn’t make sense if it is added. Let me explain:
So, the Brute Plasma Rifle was, as the name suggests, are used more commonly wielded by Jiralhanae (Brutes). And with them not present in neither Halo 4 or Halo 5, it doesn’t make sense for it to return.
The standard Plasma Rifle was more commonly wielded by Sanghelli (Elites), but has since been replaced by the Storm Rifle.
So, that doesn’t quite add up. However, as seen with the Halo: CE Magnum and Halo 2 BR, a return is possible.
Yes. We’ve seen it in a video released by 343. There’s no way they developed it and won’t add it. Just like the CE pistol and H2 BR, it all makes sense in the lore because multiplayer is all simulation.

Unless they are adding the brutes to warzone? That’s what I hope anyway.

It would be great to change up the standard warzone enemies.
It’s the beta for Fireifight dude. We don’t know when Firefight will officially come out or if the Plasma rifle will even be joining it! We could get the plasma rifle in Memories of Reach if 343i wanted to do that!

I’m personally happy to see the weapons return- especially the brute variant cause red is just oh so much sexier than the standard blue one. I believe it behaves just differently enough to make a difference between it and the storm rifle.
Would absolutely love it if they added brutes into firefight, but I doubt it will happen cause it’s too much work. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though.

I think you’re underestimating how much sense there is to its presence: it’s a training simulation meant to prepare Spartans for battle, they’d want their Spartans to learn about a weapon a known and usually hostile faction has been known to use. An important part of being prepared for potential future conflicts is knowing about other races weapons in order to know how best to counter them.

I think its more of a “when will they add it” matter. Only time will tell.
