I was just wondering. It would be really cool to see Kelly, Fred, Lucy, and the other remaining Spartan III work alongside Master Chief. They have to some how get out of the micro dysons sphere. Do you guys think they will be in Halo 4? I haven’t read Halo Glasslands so does anybody know?

i haven’t read glass lands yet either but im pretty sure they get out of the Dyson sphere in it from whatt ive picked from info posted in the forum
yea they all get out, and yea personally i think they’ll have a small part in Halo 4 although im guessing that there’ll be spartan 4s assisting MC kinda like how better ODSTs. its all in glasslands, great book btw.
I don’t think anyone will be able to answer your question with 100% certainty.
They have no business being in Halo 4.

This.
as much as there is the fact that the remaining spartans (if there are any) will be somehow incorporated in the Halo 4 story
however,
343 and bungie has mention that John-117 is ONE of the last remaining Spartan-2’s, so there will be the chance that some other spartan will come along

Why? What would they add? Nada.
I don’t understand why people hate the idea of there being other Spartans besides Master Chief. There are about 10 to 20 surviving Spartans in Halo. There are Spartan II’s, III’s, and the newly branded IV’s. However, the Spartan-IV’s are actually adult volunteers, not children like both the Spartan II’s and III’s. The remaining Spartans were given the option of becoming Spartan IV’s. I think it would be interesting to see Master Chief’s personality if all of his old friends were around after having been missing the same as him. 343 said that his personality would change due to the story, what if this is one of the reasons. The Spartan-IV’s being at Sigma-7 is most likely the reason for Master Chief’s new armor, which is most likely MJOLNIR Mark VII. You can;t exactly take Halsey’s Journal description as the up to date description of the Mark VII since that was before the war. Most likely, they have incorporated both Forerunner and Covenant technology into the armor with their own tech, which will make it better in so many ways. I’ve also seen some people saying that Jun should not come into Halo 4. Whats wrong with that? Reach had an amazing story and Jun is alive. He may not have been mentioned in the books, but thats only because all the books leading up to Halo 4 were published before Reach had even begun pre-production, meaning Jun didn’t exist at that time. His presence can easily be explained through canon rewrites. I for one think 343 should add all the Spartans they want to Halo 4. They said that they were going to ground the games in the fiction this time around, instead of Bungie’s approach which never really included any connection to the novels, comics, etc.
I thought those were the people shown in the concept art.
> I don’t understand why people hate the idea of there being other Spartans besides Master Chief.
Because they wouldn’t add anything. Besides, if this Ancient Evil is going to threaten the universe, why have all your key assets in one location with Chief? That’s just begging to go wrong.

Fred, Linda, Kelly, Serin, Naomi…and that’s all the confirmed alive S-IIs I can think of and even then Serin doesn’t really count. There are plenty of Gamma Company S-IIIs, but apparently their fate wasn’t that big of a concern to really address in Glasslands. There should still be well over 300 of them, but again, we don’t know where they are. The S-IVs I call BS on because ORION, the Spartan-Is, failed for a reason. It was far too hard to fund and the augmentations work best on children. But whatever, let ONI have volunteers. I saw it coming, yet didn’t expect ti this soon.
> I think it would be interesting to see Master Chief’s personality if all of his old friends were around after having been missing the same as him.
Except 343’s own Encyclopedia said Chief has yet to be found well up to 2610. So this would imply anyone from the UNSC would have to die to make sure 343’s own canon wasn’t breached.
> 343 said that his personality would change due to the story, what if this is one of the reasons.
Why does it have to be? Plenty of things to change him. His encounters with the Flood, Cortana’s degrading state, isolation, etc.

- It is not called Sigma 7, that was a rumor and Frankie said it was -Yoink-, well he said bullshirt, but it’s the same thing only nicer.
- Who says he needs Mk.VII? Why can’t his armor shift because of Forerunner advancements he finds on the Legendary Planet? That makes more sense than shoehorning in Mk.VII.
> Most likely, they have incorporated both Forerunner and Covenant technology into the armor with their own tech, which will make it better in so many ways.
That’s a fair point and expected. Look at the Infinity, it’s full of Forerunner goodies.
> I’ve also seen some people saying that Jun should not come into Halo 4. Whats wrong with that? Reach had an amazing story and Jun is alive.
His presence adds nothing and 343 said they have no plans to do anythign with the character.
> He may not have been mentioned in the books, but thats only because all the books leading up to Halo 4 were published before Reach had even begun pre-production, meaning Jun didn’t exist at that time. His presence can easily be explained through canon rewrites.
No it can’t. They released updated version of the old books AFTER Reach and could’ve edited it or added a report in the back of the book detailing Jun’s fate, They didn’t. As far as I’m concerned, he’s dead.
> I for one think 343 should add all the Spartans they want to Halo 4. They said that they were going to ground the games in the fiction this time around, instead of Bungie’s approach which never really included any connection to the novels, comics, etc.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, they said that, but also said you don’t have to read the books to understand the story of the game. Rather contradictory. Please, they aren’t going to add a lot besides the Infinity at most to Halo 4 because trying to explain to the folks who don’t read the books all about the various Spartans and everything will take up too much time of the game.
A lot of Spartans aren’t needed in Halo 4.
I don’t see what the big deal is. By the way, Mark VII has been confirmed via Glasslands, however, there is only one known Spartan to use it. Its not the Master Chief, but it is a Spartan-II. Though I didn’t recognize her name. How would other Spartans not add anything? Because of there presence, John’s personality could easily change, not to mention add new idea’s for stories including their deaths which would have a big effect on the Chief. 343 said that the Reclaimed Trilogy would get darker before it gets better. This could imply something extremely bad is gonna happen, most likely at the end of Halo 4 or during the entirety of Halo 5. Pretty much its all speculation at this point. We can sit here and debate or argue about this, but its not gonna do us any good. We’ll have to wait and see whats all in Halo 4, and when they reveal all that information, we’ll have our answer.
> I don’t see what the big deal is.
They would easily confuse the people who don’t play the game, adding too many characters hurts character development and why not make far more interesting Forerunner characters instead? It’s just wasted potential.
> By the way, Mark VII has been confirmed via Glasslands, however, there is only one known Spartan to use it. Its not the Master Chief, but it is a Spartan-II. Though I didn’t recognize her name.
It’s Naomi.

Because trying to juggle the character development of multiple characters has never been Halo’s strong point. I’d rather have Forerunner characters with new, fresh perspectives and personalities than multiple, soulless Spartans.

You seem to forget the post-war books, of which the Spartans have important roles. The books is where they need to stay.
You all have valid points, however I´d like to see more than one Spartan. And why not even use it?
I don´t think that´ll happen though, ¨Halo¨ focuses on the Master Chief…
Nah, not for H4, maybe for the next Halo after H4

Link? and if that’s the case, then Im hesitant to even look at Halo 4. the Arbiter,Halsey, the remaing Spartans, all be dead after a 60yr gap between the Trilogies?
Wow…the Halo Universe wouldn’t even be recognizable. Not good.
I hope I don’t find out til I play it running into Kelly, Linda, and Fred would be sweet though, if you’ve read the books.

Actually, the Encyclopedia was released before Halo 4’s announcement and most likely before development started. Meaning that was probably just a placeholder. If they had said that he was found in 2553, then people would get suspicious and then would definitely know that Halo 4 was on the way. Which means they would have to constantly deny it, etc.
it seems like Master Chief is going to end up on onyx from what i saw in the trailer
