First flight had less than 1,000 players, will the next one have more?
From a development update:
> After this flight wraps up, we will evaluate and prioritize the feedback we plan to act on. Once that is done and we have completed our feature work that is required for our next flight, we will expand the invite list and move onto Public Flight 2 in the future.
There’s a lot of threads for flight #2 discussion right now which would be better to ask stuff like this in.
As the comment above states we know that they will expand the number of people who are invited for the 2nd flight. Priority goes to players who have already participated in flight 1, however, if someone received an invite and didn’t play, it is less likely they would be invited again for flight 2. Info on the 2nd flight is quite limited so we don’t know what it will include nor do we know how many players will be invited.
According to Postums on Reddit, the second flight will have “Roughly 20x as many people this time around.”

That’ll be nice since they are going to be testing the matchmaking system. Can’t really test it if no one is online playing haha!
Quick question, where did you hear they were going to be testing matchmaking? Last I had heard flight 2 was going to be Fireflight.

Well, given how Firefight can be played with other players, it would make sense that the testing of multiplayer firefight would also serve as a test of the matchmaking system.
Edit: on the recap of flight one, they said that flight two will focus on firefight matchmaking.
> This first flight has done its job in helping to fully validate the scalability of our system as well as the hardware configurations. With these learnings, we can continue to scale and progress towards our next flight which should focus on Firefight Matchmaking
Hopefully I’m one of them.
My guess is currently at 15k insiders for the fireflight which puts chances at being in the flight at moderate to slim dep0ending on the pool they’re picking from. There are maybe 100000+ people signed up for flights so less than 15% gets picked in my guess.
This is from them stating that they want 20x the number of people in the next flight in the flight 1 report, with an estimate for the number of players in the first flight being 750 (as it was below 1000 players) and the rough guess at the number of insiders is basically just made up as I don’t have an exact number, probably higher though.
In any case I wish you all luck on getting into the fireflight and happy bug hunting if you do.
supposed too have alot more i think
