Will the MCC Come With Free Gold?

So the Halo games and a lot of other games come with free gold. I want to know if this will too. I’m going to be spending ALL of my money buying the Xbone and the MCC so I’ll have none left to buy Gold and as I’m only a teen, it will take a long while to get Gold. It’s no big deal but I just want to know because I’m worried that the popularity will go down before I get the chance to play online. I’m just going to assume it does though since the other had but I just want to make sure

Maybe. Reach and Halo 4 both came with a fortnight for free, but I don’t think Anniversary did. But if not, work on getting campaign achievements until you save up for it. The popularity won’t go anywhere anytime soon. Besides, there really aren’t that many Xbox Ones out there yet, so if anything it’ll only increase over the next couple years as people get theirs.

Also, people who are getting an Xbox One are going to want to get a game for it initially that has the most content. They’re going to think “I just dropped a crapload of cash on this and probably shouldn’t buy a bunch of games for a while, so I’ll get one that has the most to do in it” and that game is the Master Chief Collection. That’s why I got Assassin’s Creed IV with my Xbox; I knew it’d keep me busy while my bank account recovered.

Also, on Amazon you can sometimes get a year subscription for around $45 US, as opposed to the standard $60. Xbox.com sometimes offers that sale as well, but Amazon usually has it going on. Save up and get a year. It’s cheaper than doing it month by month. Just a tip.

Thanks a lot, never really thought about that. Campaign will keep me good for a long, long time so if you’re right then I’ll be fine.

OP, I highly, HIGHLY recommend finding a way to get Gold. Xbox One is just not the same without it!
Work a side job, save every penny… whatever it takes!

Find somebody with a Costco membership and purchase it there. Insanely cheap!

I bought my Xbox One, not too long ago, and still have yet to use the 14 day of Gold. Also, the game I bundled with had a free 2 day gold, so I have a feeling my gold will run out pretty soon, so I’ll just use those. The game could come with gold, but I positive that the console will come with it and more days.

I didn’t think the console came with Gold so that’s great to know, even if it were to only be for two days that’s still really helpful.

CE anniversary came with 2 day gold, i know cos i have it infront of me :stuck_out_tongue:
Reach i cant remember how many that came with, a week i think
And H4 came with a week i think
so it is likely that MCC will come with a week free

Awesome! Pretty certain now that it will since even Halo CEA got 2 days. Thanks for the info

I can pretty much guarantee it will have at least a day since the last few have  No problem

Bot Reach and Halo 4 came with 14 days of free Gold, so i’d expect the same for the MC collection.

Just an advice, buy. one year worth of gold before November comes, otherwise you’ll probably won’t have enough to spend in that crazy, awesome month. With one year worth of Gold you’ll be setup for most of the rest of 2014 and 2015.

  1. “Free gold” for Xbox One games means 2 weeks of trial, that’s useless if you ever happen to have gold. I have 2 codes (from 2 games) for gold, but instead of extending my own subscription, it told me to find someone without gold and give it to that person (which I did). It seems that if you ever had gold subscription, you have to make another account to use these codes (however I understand that this might be actually different for other countries).

  2. Nowadays living without gold is hard, so I recommend to buy few years ahead whenever you have a chance (I use to buy codes for 12-14 months, where it’s around 2,5 euro per month). However don’t fear that you’ll not be able to try Halo:MCC before population fades out. This time it works on dedicated servers, which means you’ll have same quality of connection (for online that means quality of fun) several years after release (with just a few people to play with), as someone who’ll get this game right after release.

Not sure if this is the same on Xbox one but on 360 if you make a new account it has a free one month subscription. Before I could get live I made multiple accounts to get that one month. Only problem is you gotta start over everytime.
