If the Halo Franchise continue to move forward, do you see the next chapter where the Master Chief train a new group of Spartans including becoming a mentor to them?
It feels a little out of character for John. I see him as the type that will die fighting, but I don’t know. If the universe was spontaneously at peace, with literally zero battles to fight, I can’t imagine John doing anything. I just see him slipping into a cryo-chamber and saying “Wake me when you need me.”

Considering Chief’s nature and stature it appears to be highly unlikely that him becoming a mentor will happen. If anything, it would seem more likely that Spartans like SIII Thomas B292 and SIII Lucy B091 would be among the next mentors of the SIV’s. In a way they already are, considering at this current moment in the lore Jun has been the main mentor for the Spartan IV program, and they were assisting him during the events of New Blood. During Halo 5 they were stationed on Onyx ( otherwise referred to as ONI Outpost Station Trevelyn) which would be the perfect place to train a group of top secret super soldiers.

That… or slipping off to a distant planet and farming like Thanos. Just… living. Maybe with a Cortana clone helping him maintain his crops and homestead.
Yeah i see that… he trained with others when he first became a spartan, why would he not train more. Humans in halo are nearly allways at war, or at the very least preping for one. The universe is vast and someone needs to train a new generation. Also training dosnt mean quiting.
I wouldnt mind seeing john leading spartan 4s or even 5s into battle, as a means to overlook them and advise. And yes 5s dont exist, not yet anyway.
