Will they be educated and be able to actually do tasks and drive and be able to fight well? Like in halo 3 they were awesome at shooting rockets and such, and In halo reach they were idiots. What do you guys think they should be? Smart, sorta smart, or idiotic
You can’t make them smart, they’ll start doing all the work for you. If they had endless vision then you’ll be able to sit back while they snipe with the Warthogs machine gun.
Frankly they are smart, the problem I think happens with friendly A.I. is that they’re constantly changing the area they’re in (whereas the enemy A.I. only fight in the area they spawn) and that they’re programmed to drive all vehicle like Ghosts. Where moving left is strafing left while the Warthog needs to turn left and drive straight to do the same thing.
I think they shouldn’t be “smart”, but they shouldn’t be as dumb as the Reach AI.
At least smart enough to be more helpful than a distraction.

OMG that would be hilarious to watch
I would at least like COMPETENT marines.
> It’s not awful if the Marines aren’t the best, but this should never happen again…
lol that was because it was women behind the wheel (lol)
rooster teeth’s fails of the week have many, many clips of the A.I.'s acting stupid.
if you ask me I have to say that reach’s A.I.'s (friendly) were pretty darn stupid.
its not really all that important though, what matters is how smart YOU are, not the bots.
They shouldn’t be L4D1 smart, but they definetly shouldn’t be complete morons in Reach.
There should be no reason why AI can’t drive over a bridge when they are not getting shot at, regardless of how funny it is.
left 4 dead 1, good times…good times…
Once again this all fall’s back to the lap of the developers.
Folks, this situation is getting dimmer by the day.
If they can drive better than Kat, I’ll take them.
> If they can drive better than Kat, I’ll take them.
Word. Women can’t drive even in videogames? SMH
In Halo 3 I the marines could snipe banshees out of the sky with a rocket launcher while riding on the back of a mongoose, they were a bit over-intelligent
Shoot?
They weren’t THAT bad in Reach. All you need do is give them a rocket launcher and have them in the passenger seat in a hog and they’re GOD.
I remembered the first time I got up to the level in Crysis 2 where you start fighting alongside US Marine allies. And then I thought, “man, these guys are actually competent at fighting! They can hold the line and are actually able to take down enemies, yet they still die often enough to be balanced and not overpowered. I wish Halo’s Marines were like that”.
Turns out that the devs achieved that by literally reskinning the enemy AI as a Marine and changing its friend-foe relationships.
That got me thinking, what if Marines acted like reskinned Elites? O.o
Yeah I know it probably would be wacky as hell but I just thought the idea was a bit lulzy.
Smart enough to kill a few elites or Promethean knights. But if they make me look bad, there’ll be trouble.
the marines in Reach were limited and so was KAT.
The A.I did not stand ofr intelligence that’s for sure.
The marines in H4 should be more intelligent, make wittier comments and cause all kinds of rukus…
NOT BE VEGETABLES that won’t give me their gun and won’t help kill the enemiy and cannot drive.
Marines are excellent at disposing of unneeded warthogs and ordnance. And distracting. you.
