Greetings spartans and historicans.
In the Universe section its said the following about the kraken:
> This aggressive move would mark the first real engagement the UNSC would have with these incredibly destructive machines, though it would not be the last.
So do you think we will see the Kraken again in any sort of media and would you be happy about that?
If the covenant is really done, I think it would be cool to have a Kraken Vehicle run. I don’t know the extent of Atriox’s army but he could very well have one ( I doubt it though). I’d love to see it again. I thought it was cool to see in the campaigns, plus invading it was really fun.

I forgot to add that it would be probable that the Swords of Sanghelios could have them now that the war is over. It could be an ally (Hence why I want a Kraken run with them in a mission).

And why?
An explanation would be helpful.

Given that the fall of the Covenant is well implied, I feel as if the kraken will no longer be used due to the lack of necessity for combat
If other Covenant remnant groups have access to them, I’d assume they could return.

The grunt goblin already suggests that Cortana is not above using her ‘charges’ as military forces.
It’s very possible, but depends on if any where salvaged from the collapse.
I don’t see how it fits in Halo 5.
We are told that the Covenant is dying, and there is not much of them left.
If the Covenant are in disarray and loosing power, how can they make a vehicle of such size for battle?
I think it could comeback, but not at the hands of the Covies. At the hands of the Banished!

History has shown us that empires which will fall often deploy super heavy equipment even it make that they will fall faster.
Im sure the kraken will return, because is the 343 version of the scarab. But what about the harvester?
Slightly off-topic:
Why are some Covenant vehicles named after ghostly synonyms and others after mythological creatures (Kraken for example, but Locust/Scarab have ancient Egyptian ties as well)? What issued the change? Or did they simply run out of synonyms?

Hover vehicles get ghost-like names do to their sound.
Covenant walkers get bug names cause they often look more bug-like.

O wow. Ofcourse! Never occurred to me you actually had a hovering/walking difference in vehicles until now. Thanks!
Does Sali Nyons faction have any of those Krakens, they could be in Halo 6.
Its possible but was not the great enemy. I miss the Scarab of Halo 3
The Covenant remnant may have a couple stashed away for a rainy day, but I doubt they would bring them out “just cuz” because of the massive logistical and strategic costs they have. Losing one of those can cripple a warlords war effort, it’s not like losing a few Banshees.
Atriox probably doesn’t have one of the 2016 models, but he may have a salvaged/scavenged one at his disposal if things get wild enough. We fought Scarabs in HW1, so it wouldn’t surprise me if we came up against more of those (or Krakens) in HW2.
