No. Each season will provide a battle pass, and the battle pass you buy is a one-time purchase that you never lose. Even when new seasons come out, you can complete it whenever you want. Do note that you will have to pay for each one as they come out, though.

So, idk about the 1st one (possible) but any after the 1st will not be free. There will be a free track which will reward you with some things (and you have the fracture events which are free and will reward you things). However, there is a pay for path in the BP that will give you more. We dont know the price but my assumption is 10 bucks.

multiplayer is separate from Gamepass. No season comes with gamepass. If you have gamepass, you get the campaign (and probably all expansions for it) and a monthly reward for multiplayer if you have gamepass ultimate (we dont know what it is, but its prob something like monthly exp boosts or weapon swaps)

I believe Season 1 does come with Gamepass, on account of it being included with the purchase of the Campaign. But any following seasons will not be included.

They never stated the first pass will be free. They said the Yoroi armour can be earned in their first season for free, or words to that effect. I believe they were referring to a fracture event that everyone can play. I have yet to see 343i state that season one is free. Go look for proof, it’s not there.

Each Season will have a BattlePass.
The BattlePass offers a free and a paid progression path. If you don’t want to pay for a BattlePass, you don’t have to. However if you do wish to spend a bit of money you can earn additional rewards within the BattlePass for that Season.

BattlePasses that you’ve bought will also never expire. If you have it, you’ve got it forever.

I recommend looking into Microsoft Rewards, it’s a easy way to earn free store credit for the Xbox & Microsoft Store. With enough points you can easily get the BattlePass for free.
