Will the forerunners enemy types return?

The sentinel’s beam weapon was shown in the last flight and that almost confirmed that the sentinels that we fought in halo 1-3 are returning. My question is will the knights, watchers, and other Promethean enemy types return? This could allow the big sentinels from halo 2 to return and possibly other types as well and scrap the other designs because cortana is now in control.

I never saw the sentinel beam at all! How did I miss that -Yoink-? Hahaha.

I wouldn’t count on it, as to have the Prometheans in Infinite would likely require a complete redesign of Promethean enemies. The Promethean and Forerunner art style in 4 and 5 conflicted a lot with the classic art style and would likely conflict with Infinite’s art style. Prometheans weren’t the most liked enemies as well. Not very many people actually enjoyed fighting them.

Forerunner enemies like sentinels however, VERY LIKELY. Can’t wait to see if they bring back the old sentinels, or if they do a bit more than that.

well since Promethean weapons have been confirmed its highly likely they will return in some way
not to mention the banished in all the trailers kept mentioning the Harbinger who is not banished which most likely Promeathean/created related

have they? so far we’ve only seen completely new weapons with a more traditional forerunner aesthetic.

Cindershot and Heatwave are very obvious promethean architecture.

There were Brute weapons in the Halo 4 sandbox. There were zero Brutes in the Halo 4 campaign.

I would say that if not immediately that infinite will feature a large range of the halo universe at some point.
I would be very surprised if they didn’t feature the Prometheans not to mention that this was supposed to be a trilogy and you could hardly say that the promethean side of the story was wrapped up in Halo 5.
Besides for the people that haven’t read the novels Halo 4 and 5 are complete tangents. (4 in particular). I can’t see how Prometheans can’t be part of this game.

I think we will see some actual forerunners and not prometheans, because the forerunner weapons in Infinite looks like something they would use in the ancient humans vs forerunner war.

Hardlight weapons are confirmed and there are weapon tips for them in the flight. So unfortunately probably, yes.

As long as they actually make the prometheans have legitimate weaknesses I don’t think haing them in the game would be bad.

But I agree Prometheans particularly the halo 4 knights were the worst. I think most people got over the bullet sponge that was warden eternal as well.

I would say in some way yes, if there are forerunner weopons, there is something that uses ist.
Sentinels are garantee but how the others are going to look like? Your guess is as good as mine.
Imo its either strongly reworked prometheans or more likely more Sentinel style enemys

So long as I’m not getting swarmed by spider dogs with Suppressors or dealing with 20 watchers (Hello, Spartan Ops) I’ll be okay with it

Man, I hope not. The Prometheans were almost as annoying as The Flood. But that’s just me.

I’m in two minds of whether I think 343 will bring them back for the launch campaign.

On the one hand, I could see them not including them because they want to give us a break, following their less than great reception in the previous games.

On the other hand, I could see them wanting to bring Cortana and the Prometheans in early (in Infinite’s life cycle), so that they can resolve the plot, and put it behind them and move on.

Halo is at its best when there is more than one enemy faction in the story. I feel like we will see a second enemy faction enter the launch campaign before the end, but it could be the Flood or the Created.

promethean weapons have floating pieces and more complex designs. the heatwave and cindershot looks like they’re in the same family as the sentinel beam, not promethean at all.
