Will the flood return? A question that has been with me ever since Halo 3 ended, sure we have a new enemy to fight, the Prometheans but lets be honest, they’re boring as hell to fight and the re-use of the warden was just pathetic.
Flood > Prometheans for sure.
Seems unlikely since the halo ring wiped the ark clean of the flood. I feel like flood will return, but HW2 doesn’t seem to be the game.
Forerunners are definitely fun. i would like both the forerunners prometheans and flood.

I would like to see how that would turn out with all the factions fighting each other at the same time.

There was flood on the Spirit of Fire, the upcoming anthologies are meant to address that, but i bet they’ll just get rid of it in some anti-climatic way.
Unfortunately I believe it will be the Forerunners/Prometheans, but we can hold out hope since Halo Wars had it.

Well cortana and her created probably are anywhere a forerunner construct is at and the galaxy is huge so there must be some flood around. Maybe there was a guardian on the Ark?
There could have been a bunch of trapped flood on the ark like there were on installation 04 that survived the launch of installation 04B

The fact that they denied that Prometheans will make an appearenace in Halo Wars 2 and basically chose to not say anything about the flood at all with the added lore that a single flood spore is still on the Spirit of Fire almost confirms the Flood’s appearance in Halo Wars 2.

Gosh dang it that’s what I thought. I hate what they did with the canon.
It would be interesting to see the Flood in Halo Wars 2 and this time they could control them.
They probably will be in the game but not in the campaign. There are going to be new units, leaders, maps and even campaign DLC. The Flood were supposed to be in the first game. It is very likely that they will be in the game.

That’s a good point. Also, let’s not forget, 343i straight up LIED about Cortana being dead so…anything is possible.
I believe so. There are still 4 other commanders other than cutter and atriox. I think one will be prometheans, one flood, and the other 2 I don’t know.
The flood would be an excellent addition to the game.
as must are biological units you could make them like Spartans, where they take over enemy units to mould them into a flood version
