There’s another Halo! And aren’t there Flood on every ring?
As we all know…

Technically yes because there were some on SoF and SoF is the focuse in Halo Wars 2. But if you mean by 6 then ask again when after Halo Wars 2 comes out
If you go by the books and games … There were grave minds that left the milky way Galaxy, there are flood on almost all forerunner research decks, and of course flood that managed to creep into shield words having a mouse and cat war for thousands of years.
The flood are the second most abundant thing in the halo universe with the first being forerunner tech seemingly on every single planet.
Because of all of that being said, I feel every halo (that expands farther than ODST) should have the flood. Yet that’s not the case so we may never see the flood or every halo game coming up will have the flood.
It’s most likely plausible that there are pockets of flood that exist in other installations, much like how it was in Installation 04 and 05 (CE’s Ring and H2’s Ring, respectively)
The fact that the legendary ending shows another Halo installation could give credence to the theory that the flood will return in some way, perhaps with the reemergence of the Gravemind to combat the Created, which would certainly provide an interesting twist considering previous events.
If you read the forerunner saga, there were 13 rings and one GIGANTIC mega ring. A large Ark in the south of the galaxy, and the ark we are familiar with, the smaller ark, on the east of the galaxy (I may be flopping positions.) A rougue AI named Mendicant Bias attack the forerunners with the rings, and in turn, 7 were destroyed, and the large one had to be taken apart and put back together at half it’s size (Halo #7). The larger ark was destroyed after the flood and Mendicant Bias, with the Precursors, used planetary system sized weapons to slice and dice (not really sure what they were, the author wasn’t clear) The precursors had a MAJOR role in the eradication of the forerunners. The flood were made because people found a strain of space dust that made their alien dogs coats shiny. That mutated and eventually turned into the flood. The Mantle was once the forerunners responsibility, but when humans grew in size and power, the precursors chose them. The Didact is pissed at humanity because they took the forerunner’s rightful place and the holders of the mantle of responsibility, but only because he failed to see that the mantle was just the genetic ability to hold and curate flood infection forms to eventually make overminds, which would evolve into precursors. Essentially precursor breeding program. Most of this is from inference, and not actually said. The books hint at this quite a lot.
Also don’t forget about the Didact’s shield worlds. Requiem is just one.
But… oh well… none of it matters because apparenly OConnor doesn’t think flood exist anymore…

I recommend reading Halo: Escalation then. It should change your mind.
Yes.
Flood still exists - even in the Halo: Escalation there was a Flood infection form onboard the Spirit of Fire.

I don’t much care for lasky, palmer, or the infinity. Looked up summaries and it doesn’t look interesting. I guess I’m just not excited about the current timeline. I miss having awesome stories about the human covenant war. Everything now seems… like a bad action tv show.

Yeah wtf happened to that single spore on SoF? Is it on the ark now? I have a feeling the Flood will be in H6 and maybe HW2?

actually that was eventually wrapped up by a dev at some point. I cant remember were but the flood are not on the spirit of fire, at least not currently.
I know the comic says differently but the interview i saw (god i cant remember for the life of me) states that that is not the SoF in its current state.

They said that it would be explained in their newest comic anthology, “Halo: Tales from Slipspace” It will release this year, so maybe then we’ll get an answer as to when we’ll be seeing the Flood before Halo Wars 2 releases. As for Halo 6, some people have said we’ll see their return be teased in a Post-Credits Legendary scene.
I think so cuz there on all the halos its said in the books that all halos have a set of flood on each halo
I hopersuaded so. The new mechanics should make it interesting.
Promethean-flood just sounds awesome and a pain in the -Yoink- to fight

God imagine those on Legendary Mythic

You mean HW2’s legendary scene?

Yeah, but until we get to read it - the Flood was onboard the Spirit of Fire and I hope Flood will return in Halo Wars 2 or anytime soon.
I don’t know about Flood in Halo 6. There is too much going on, quite few factions and I don’t really see space for Flood - maybe at the end as teaser…
If you watched Sprint episodes, there was a storyboard where it extended the legendary ending - Cortana on that Halo, walking through the jungle and standing before a small terminal where it shown an AI strangely similar to Roland’s.

Like I said, there is A LOT MORE in Halo: Escalation, not just about those two characters.
Well, there was a teaser for Halo Wars 2 showing a floating Spirit of Fire with ABANDON SHIP alert and a Flood infection form onboard with all cryo pods open.

They could do it there too, but I think the comic will be telling us whether or not the Flood will make a presence in Halo Wars 2. I was talking about how people have suggested that they tease the Flood’s return through the base Halo games after the credits.

Thank you. The Flood are the underlying threat / story arc that ties the whole Halo universe (especially the reclamation) together. Having a halo story arc without the flood is essentially re-writing the story to me.
I don’t think so.
343 is so focused on their reclaimer trilogy that they completely ignore all the comics that were made before Halo 4.
Yes, there was indeed a flood infection form present on the SoF, but as i mentioned before, i don’t think 343i will take notice.

Er, no.
There were originally 12 Halo installations that were significantly larger than the ones that we know and blow up. They were 30,000 km in diameter while the seven most are familiar with were 10,000 km. Eleven of the twelve were destroyed during the final stages of the Forerunner-Flood War. The remaining ring had sustained massive damage, and had portions edjected to reduce its size and was placed with the six smaller rings which were created at the lesser Ark, which we call the Ark or Installation 00.
The Flood was discovered as an unidentified powder aboard an unidentified spaceship. Eventually, ancient humans had found that it made pheru, a common pet, more docile and friendly. However, after several generations, the pheru began to develop genetic problems and were effectively the first form of the Flood.
The Mantle was never meant for the Forerunners. When the time came, the Precursors chose humanity to be the next in line to uphold the Mantle. The Forerunners were greatly upset by this, and so began a genocidal campaign to eradicate the Precursors. However, some survived and transmuted into the aforementioned powder.
