This is just might theory, I want to know what you think. I’m just curious, do you think that certain species of the Covenant might want to work under the Precursors (Pretty certain Precursors are the main antagonist from recent hints and teases from other works within the fiction). What do you think of this possibility?
I think one faction will support whatever the new enemy is and another will support humanity
You know, thats not a bad theory at all. They were so loyal to the so called “Gods” that we now know are the Forerunners, that if the Precursors come along, decide “Hey, since we’re testing humans, lets use these guys against them.” to find a new thing for the remnants of the Covenant to follow.
Of course as was already said, followers of the Arbiter won’t go for it (“Fool me once…” sort of thing) but I’m sure there would be plenty of ex-covies who would gladly swear their undying allegiance to the Prophets.
Maybe it will be like in Halo ce where you are fighting the covenant simultaneously fighting the Flood and they are fighting each other too
