Again being a huge fan of the Halo series and as a game designer.
I am still on the fence about the future of Halo and why many fans are worried.
Reasons?
in my previous post I pointed them out.
But what i’d like to see is the Elites return and of course the Arbiter and maybe even future alien type characters who are playable.
Why do you ask? I am tired of playing as human characters in video games.
I personally like playing as alien or creature or other types of things when it comes to a game. Cause this gives me a new experience. Sadly not many game companies think outside the box. When the Arbiter came along I was happy to see Bungie was on the same page as a designer that I was on. I don’t know if Frankie was listening to me or Bungie.
Want some great examples and why I think Metroid started all of this.
I liked the fact when I first experienced Metroid as a kid.
The person I was playing didn’t look human but appeared to look like they were in some sort of suit and to find out it was a girl was a shocker to me.
We havn’t seen what master chief really looks like and no I am not saying he is female. But his suit keeps the mystery of what he looks like which again I find great.
Maybe in Halo 6 we get to see what he really looks like.
But for now I am hoping some elites and other alien characters like the Arbiter return in future Halo games and are playable.
Cause without iconic characters making a return - again could give some examples but I am sure you can think of some movies, stories, comics. Where if you take out certain side kicks the franchise just isn’t the same.
I am hoping 343 takes this advice and makes it interesting for those who are tired of playing the same characters and are maybe just wanting to play as elites.
Maybe they could make a series just for the Arbiter and his adventures in the galaxy.
But again I will leave this up to 343.
More Options = more sales when it comes to the industry.
Limit your game and what characters you play, control options, game types, hidden eggs, skulls, etc = destroying sales and maybe even your fan base.
Course I am sure hoping 343 understands this and since many think I shouldn’t jump to conclusions. I will wait and see before I past judgement on this game.
