I know,this subject it’s getting annoying, but I really don’t understand why everyone thinks Thel will die.
Thel is a very important character in my view, because he has power (is kaidon) and is struggling to achieve peace and exterminate the covenant …
If he dies, who’ll assume his place ? Uzse? I believe that usze or other elite, will not be so influential as him …
Another fact, is that he fight extremely well! He survived many dangers and has none scar from what happened,and people still insist on saying that he will die.
As many people say that Master Chief may die too.
well,for me fundamental characters don’t die for nothing,always has a reason for it.
So I think considerable, that Thel remain standing in books or comics negotiating peace.

The only reason people would want a character to die, is to get solid closure to a story. It wraps ot up neatly and they can accept there is nothing more to add to the story going on. It’s the reason “will Chief die?” Posts exist. At the end of the trilogy, if Chief or Arbiter just retire, they could pull a Frank Miller and go all Dark Knight Returns. It’s easier to accept that there are no more stories to be told about that character if there is a definitive conclusion.
if any major character is going to die, then I think it will be the arbiter
I do think the Arbiter would die if it lead to better character development for the Master Chief or Locke, the same way Cortana sacrificed her self. With Cortana gone, 343 has given Chief blue team in game to give him somebody to relate to and interact with. No longer is he a lone wolf with an A.I. Companion. He is with friends he has known a long time and trusts deeply. It has great story telling potential. So yes, if there is story potential, they will kill him off. It has to be meaningful though.
I either want chief to die or retire mainly because I feel like we’ve experienced enough of his story. The only part of him we have left to experience is him regaining his humanity.
Arbiter nah he’s not going to be the one to die, chief won’t kill him (can the chief even kil the arbiter?), and he’s working with locke unless oni tells them to kill the arbiter which can happen. But I honestly see him retiring after this hunt for chief and jul mdama.
Jul mdama is really the only main sangheli that has the greatest chance of dying. Dr halsey could die also.
