So I noticed this in the newly updated Halo 4 section here on Waypoint under specializations:
“Once a player has advanced through the standard fifty (50) rank levels allotted to Spartans, they will have access to a selection of Specializations. These paths are composed of ten rank levels each, which the player, once opting for the Specialization, must complete in order to improve their rank and before being allowed to enlist in a separate Specialization.”
To me this seems to indicate that completing a specialization will affect your rank - possibly by ranking up to level 51 after progressing through you first specialization path and so on up towards a final level of 58. Or maybe it will show up in some other way.
Im not sure. I know you recieve 10 additional ranks… but considering you’re re enlisting you may have to work your way through 60 ranks… but I think your just going to progress through your new 10… we’ll have to wait to find out.
I like the idea, but I can’t understand how the 50 ranks, then 10 more ranks, and how Fast Track works when you can’t level up more/use it and rank up other Specializations at the same time so what’s the point…
I’m not quIte sure how they will show your overall rank. But here I go trying to explain the system:
To unlock the mods you have to reach the max rank of 50. Then for LE owners we get a choice of ten(2 TBC) the people that bought the standard edition get a choice of two. Fast Track is on these two. So your obvious choice soul be to pick that. Once you get that mod to level ten you can use it and you get to choose another mod to get to level ten. You do this for the remaining ones.

I did notice one place in the IGN article mentioned 10 but other spots in it said a total of 8 and all the info on the LE at retailers like Amazon.com say "get early access to six specializations (2 for everyone + 6 for LE) so I figured this was just a typo.
