either way, I have been thinking of various ways to use Spartan abilities in sandbox strategies to potentially give me an advantage over the competition because I have nothing better to do quite frankly. I was thinking, what effect would Spartan abilities have on vehicles?
wouldn’t you expect, that if you pull off an epic ground pound on a warthog for it to go flying into pieces or would that not be a thing for balancing? What if a ghost sees you, starts boosting towards you and you Spartan charge and destroy it? These are just a few scenarios I came up with and I realised, with a bit of practise, if these mechanics worked this way, then vehicles don’t actually stand that much of a chance. I think if you can pull off a ground pound on an airborne banshee that would be epic, but what about scorpions and wraiths? Phaetons and other big vehicles, could you potentially block being splattered by a scorpion by ground pounding the top and killing the driver?
these are all questions floating around in my head and I think the community might want a share of my brain.

From what I have seen in Warzone videos, the effects of spartan abilities on vehicles range from minor to moderate. I saw a GIF of a ground pound on a scorpion (from low altitiude) and it did nothing and the tank proceeded to blow his attacker away. I did see a ground pound that flipped a ghost too. Time and experimentation will tell

yep. Maybe its to do with altitude and where you land, I am quite interested.
I’ve been asking the same questions but I’m sure when it comes to tanks and wraiths the Spartan abilities won’t do anything to them unless they are greatly weaken. I saw a warzone clip where a damaged warthog was destroyed by a ground pound. I do think a Spartan charge will be able to push a ghost or warthog from the right angle other wise I’m sure you’ll just get run over.

newtons 3rd law of motion or whatever, if both player and ghost are travelling at same speed then sure, but if player is travelling faster by 1 or 2 newtons it could destroy ghost. Btw I don’t know jack -Yoink- about science so I am not trying to be nerdy, just hypothesising.

you have been playing reach on legendary recently xD
It could be a perspective issue, but it looked like his teammate scored a direct ground pound on the ghost, but all that happened was the driver died, the ghost was still fine. Even taking into account how high his teammate was. I think a vehicle has to be very damaged for ground pound to be a threat, but by then, any considerable amount of damage would do the job anyway.
As for spartan charge? I doubt its going to do much if at all. Considering how easy it seems splatters are, almost CE level from the looks of it. Greenskull got splattered by a mongoose slowly backing up for crying out loud lol.

i had to watch it twice. it killed the driver not destroy vehicle.
I do believe that a ground pound can destroy vehicles, depending on their health, and their class.
I imagine that if you were to GP a Mongoose, you will have a pretty good shot at destroying it, but if you were to try on a Scorpion, you might need to put a little more effort in.

That physics makes sense. 2 ton person + armor + distance + ground pound ability vs tank

I don’t know if that is sarcasm or not but I agree those physics make sense.
