Will Skulls be making there way into Halo 5?

Just a random post whether or not there’s any clarification on hidden skulls in Halo 5?

I, for one, hope Skulls return. However, unlike Halo 4, I want the Skulls to be hidden. Also, I would appreciate some new gameplay effects, too. Halo 4 took directly from Halo 3. I would appreciate some new options.

Of course, if they include challenges, finding Skulls will be a feature that violates the unity between allowing any player to participate in these challenges. However., if a new player was wanting to complete a challenge that said “complete Midnight on Legendary, solo”, they would have to complete the other missions in advance. Albeit, such a scenario is unlikely. But if 343i included challenges and Skull hunting, they can balance this with just preventing players from being able to participate in that challenge unless they reach certain requirements.

Skull hunting adds replay value, in my opinion. And it’s always fun. They should get really creative with the hidden locations. I think the fanbase would appreciate some of that Halo 2-esque goody hunting. And it would go well with the overall theme of the game.

ONI Handler:
“Spartan Locke, your job is to locate and secure Sierra-117 for disciplinary action. While you’re at it, please keep your eyes open for any Human skulls laying about. if you spot said skulls, pick them up and then drop them before moving on; repeat the cycle. In addition to this, keep an eye for anything you would consider abnormal or anything that may reference something only a greater being will understand.”

Jameson Locke:
“. . . Sir, I don’t think I want this job.”

ONI Handler:
“You’ll take it. Unless you want me to send Spartan Buck on you with his catchphrase?”

Edward Buck:
“Bam, said the lady.”

Jameson Locke:
“. . . Ah, -Yoink!- it!”

I would like the skull to be hidden like in Halo 2 in some amazing glitched spot, that’s be great

I would like to assume yes, but it’s hard to say based on Halo 4. I’m cautiously optimistic that we will have hidden skulls again.

I would love to have the skulls back the IWHBYD is still the best skull. Besides having to go the extra mile to find them was always fun

probably will be

I would think so they’re kind of a game staple now. I really hope to get to spend time finding them.

Hopefully. They were fun to find.

Of course skulls are going to be in. I mean, they help add to the longevity of the campaign and spartan ops/ firefight ( whatever game mode is in with A.I enemies).

I prefer the Halo 4 skull effects with some Halo 2 Anniversary skulls mixed in there.

I think the skull hunting days are over, sadly… I would love some hidden goodies, but I feel like 343 will just unlock them all from the get-go. I can see them hiding terminals though. I’d like to be proven wrong about this.

I’d love to see skulls return. I wouldn’t mind if we had to hunt them down again but just seeing them return will be nice for me. I mean, it’s almost a given they’ll return. They’ve been in every Halo game since their introduction to the series, even Wars and the Spartan games had them. I just hope they have a ton of them like H2A. A good selection of skulls that make the game hard while having more options for making it fun. H2A’s skulls were perfect for this and I hope we see most, if not all, of them return with new ones added.

i hope they are hidden again

That was a feature I was expecting to have in H4, and was shocked it wasn’t incorporated. However, the levels in H4 were a little bit more linear than past halo games, and would have been more difficult to hide skulls on thusly. Hopefully we get H5 with skulls hidden throughout the campaign!

Definitely, after playing back through MCC I really enjoyed hunting skulls

I want them to be hidden, but no grenade jumps. I can NEVER do them. I dont have the reflexes.

They better, wouldn’t be Halo without skulls

Not only do I want skulls back… I want the same skulls (or at least same amount) as the Halo 2A skulls. Notice how Halo 2A had MORE skulls than Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and Halo 4.
