Will REQ packs ruin Halo 5?

I dont know about you but im a bit worried. I feel like it was better in Halo 4 when you had to do a specific task to earn armor instead of getting lucky. I can also see there being 1 weapon that somehow ends u being too strong and just annoys anyone. My main issue is that im hoping this wont be like Advanced Warfare which destroyed Call of Duty’s reputation with Advanced Supply Drops.

All of the REQ items, outside of Warzone, are completely cosmetic and will not have any effect on core gameplay. As for Warzone, the REQ system CAN give you an advantage but not a game breaking one. Got a shiny new legendary binary rifle? That’s cool, but I can still kill you with my regular BR. I understand your worries but I think they are gonna end up being completely unfounded.

It will not, by the way it sounds, we will be getting a lot of them and there is a bunch of items to grab.
the thing with COD was that it has the entire multiplayer dealing with these changes that effects everything in multiplayer without anyone able to do anything to narrow down the search so it would not effect them as much in multiplayer. Halo 5 has that and Arena will not see anything that will effect gameplay at all inside of it. It does not seem like something you should really think as destroying the franchise. I mean we are getting at less 18 maps post launch because of the micro transaction that only speed up the RNG aspect.

its all “random” so do i think it’ll ruin halo 5, no. Honestly i don’t really see myself looking for a specific armor piece anyways. if anything just helljumper because i think it looks the freaking awesome. but i’ll be rocking my helioskrill or fotus at launch… everything else i get is just extra… i do hope they have some armor that unlocks via achievements… but i doubt it.

There are many posts/polls about this. I think people need to give it a chance first. Seems as though it will not affect gameplay almost at all. In game you will not know if the person calling stuff in during warzone got it from real money or by playing a lot anyway.

The REQ system is cool and it won’t hurt gameplay, but if certain armors were unlocked through achievement I would not be upset.

I don’t think so… although I will miss trying to complete vidmaster like achievements for specific armor

I hope not.

Yes and no. Some won’t be bothered by it while some may give up because it takes forever to get things they want out of them.

It already has for me. Putting a lottery in this game instead of awarding achievement makes the armor and assassination animations worthless. I have no interest in war zone so I don’t care about the cards but nickeling and dimeing customers for the chance to get something you want is gambling plain and simple.

I really don’t understand how people said Yes to this question. I love REQ packs. To me, it is a refined Supply Drop system.

It’s nice that you can unlock them this quickly. I thought it would take much more gameplay to earn REQ points than it does.

I like this Req system a lot. I wont ever spend real money on the packs, but I will use the in game credits to buy them.

Nah, eventually if you play enough you’ll be able to unlock everything because you get 2 permanent unlocks per silver and gold req packs “if available”. That would stand to reason that eventually no-one will be available because you’ve unlocked them all. Eventually everyone will be on even footing and it will be about using your reqs at the right moment to tip the battle in your favor.

Yes it is actually quite strategic.

no I love them but it won’t be the end of the world if the gold packs cost 1.99 instead of 2.99 but there amazing in halo 5. #FalconinHalo5

I wasn’t bothered by them at first, then started playing and actually thought they were good. Now I’m not so keen as I’m level 22 and opened numerous gold and silver and have no br or ar variants and I’m out gunned and out ranged most of the time at the start of the match, which is starting to wear thin. And before I get jumped on I can hold my own on the field most of the time, and yes I do marvel in the skill of some of the top players. Hopefully as some one said, once everybody has everything it will come back to being skill and strategy.

I personally love the Req system, however why in gods name is the req system used in arena, I don’t want to be earning req points if I never play warzone it makes no sense.

I hope not

REQs also include cosmetic items one can use in arena. And awarding the points is a good thing for those who do okay Warzone. I actually like that I can play arena and still make progress in getting REQs. Gives a certain synergy to all my playtime in MP.
