Off topic: Who wants to see VIP return? It’s possible considering the tweaks Bungie did with Invasion Skirmish and Power Slayer.

I’ve always wondered why Race wasn’t a playlist. As much as I suck at driving, I’d love it!

Reach currently has way too many playlists as is, especially with its low population. We need to downsize playlists, not add more.

no, what would be nice is if race and vip could enter action sack. action sack could use some new fun gametypes and i really like race and vip and they need a home.

Ever since Rocket Race was ruined on purpose, I don’t want to know what the horror of a race playlist would look like.

I know, I agree. There now has to be more variety in the playlists, like it used to be. The only really fun-made playlist is Action Sack.

There’s currently an effort underway by the Community Cartographers to gather Race/Rally maps that support 2 player splitscreen. This would lead me to believe that a playlist is in the works (although it probably depends on the amount of quality submissions).

Obviously you’ve been racing on the wrong maps. Sure having a good track itself is good, but the scenery is key when making a map. That’s why I really like Funkzilla and Gaian Fury, they’re so much fun to race on.

Both posts are true, my infection map got submitted last week, so this leads me to think we could be seeing community infection maps as soon as Halloween.

why do you want to turn a <mark>first person shooter</mark> in to a racing game?
if you want to play a racing game then go buy one of the many ones designed for racing cars that are on the market.

I don’t really see it as turning it into a racing game, I’d say it’s more like a mini-game. It’s not like Halo 4’s cover is going to feature part of a race track with a line of mongooses racing each other or anything. Halo is and always will be a FPS, adding a little playlist so people can chill out and race for a bit isn’t going to change that. And since when does a specific game genre have to entirely stick to that genre? Pretty sure other games have had little mini-games inside of them. Take Tekken Tag for example, that’s a fighting game, yet had a bowling mini-game in it. Nothing wrong with that.
But yea, with that said, I wouldn’t mind a Race playlist at all. It wouldn’t be the reason I play Halo, but I would be cool with hopping in there sometimes to mess around a bit. Hope they make one.
Personally, I think that Rocket Race should be removed from the Multi-Team playlist and incorporated into a new Race playlist with other race variants. The fact that there’s a chance of having to play Rocket Race when I want to play Multi-Team really puts me off the playlist as a whole.
