Private Dusten Echoes, an enigmatic and helpful character that has been in the backround of Halo’s story since the beginning; much like SGTMAJ Avery Johnson, MSTSGT Marcus P. Stacker, or PFC Chips Dubbo. And yet he hasn’t made an appearance in a very long time. Is Dusten dead or just merely forgotten over other characters?
Perhaps he found refuge on a piece of Alpha Halo and managed to open a portal to Zeta Halo.

There were actually plans in early development to have Johnson suddenly show up in the Longsword and brush his teeth.

I remember that. It was depending on which difficulty you ended the game with. One was supposed to have him jump out from behind John and give him a spook, another was him brushing his teeth, and a third was going to be him popping out of the floor grate.
Instead, we get the Legendary ending one where he asks the Elite for a hug and it makes a grab at his butt. In the Anniversary edition of the cutscene, he grabs the Elite’s butt.

Depending on the difficulty, he would be hugging Spark like he already does; he would be hanging down and treating Spark like a hang glider. Another he would be sitting on top of Spark like a Yoga Ball, and the final one was that Johnson was going to be standing on top, casually smoking a cigar.
