Will playing on high sensitivity hinder gameplay?

Since I play other FPS titles I have always been used to high sensitivity. When playing halo I notice that higher sensitivity isn’t really necessary since combat is not as fast paced as battlefield. But can you still be good at halo if you play on a high sensitivity?

Yes, but it all depends on your playstyle. Although if you push the look thumbstick too far to the side your Spartan will go from fast turning (aim sensitivity based of course) to hyperfast as it activates a type of “turn around” speed for quickly turning and running back… or just general turning.

I recently dropped my sensitivity from 7 to 3. I’m better for it.

High sensitivity can screw your medium to long range game… from what I gather from what pro gamers say medium sensitivity is better; but everyone is different.

Playing with a high sensitivity will most likely hinder your performance in halo. I hate to make the COD reference but halo is not all about reaction times and the kill times in halo are not a mere fraction of a second like in COD. Also COD does half the aiming for you while halo 5 has the probably the lowest amount of aim assist we have seen in years in any shooter. Just go watch one the thousands of COD montages on youtube and count how many shots players make that land them a kill while their crosshairs are not even on target. I wouldn’t play with anything higher than a 5 setting as it would really hurt your mid to long range game play.

I have always played on the highest sensitivity (10) and it feels perfect for me to react and move fast enough but I have been used to it for a long time so it depends.

Battlefield, CoD, etc are all twitch shooters where being able to get shots on your opponent as quick as possible no matter where you hit them is the most important factor in a gunfight. High sensitivity is great for this.

Halo is a precision shooter. Getting headshots and keeping your reticule steady is most important as you are rewarded for headshots and penalized for body shots. A medium range sensitivity is ideal for this. For example, almost all of the top pro players play with a sensitivity of 3-5. Anything higher than that is just unnecessary imo.

The better your aim is, the higher sensitivity you can use. I believe I play on two so that I don’t flail all over the place with the magnum.

Play on whatever’s most comfortable for you. There’s no such thing as a sensitivity that is the best, it depends on the player. If you can make a high sensitivity work, go for it!
