@Venture_Jones no no… definitely not dead. We do have steam numbers, though – which should account for a good amount of people. Probably no where near as good as Console or Gamepass on PC.
I believe steam numbers showed around 200k PC players at launch, maybe a 250k… Now we are down to 10 - 30k.

EDIT: again, Steam should still not even come close to console or PC gamepass. I expect maybe 25% of the population. Furthermore, with there being MORE issues on PC, retention rates should be higher on console.
They can take as long as they need to fix infinite. In the meantime, I still have lots of MCC campaign achievements to do, as well as the rest of H5 152 grind to keep me occupied, let alone other games.
My Gf and I are still grinding through the battlepass. But we still have issues with the game. We haven’t left. However, for campaign we are waiting for co-op to come out. And with the vehicle and overall campaign issues I’ve heard about, I imagine that when co-op comes out there would be a campaign overhaul.
In my case i play daily because i loved playing H3,but in its current state I’ll switch to the next Call of Duty if its any good mainly because COD has something to work for in getting to the last prestige whereas halo has nothing.343 couldve brought back the H3 ranks and progression and it wouldve felt perfect and wouldve been something fun to work towards like gaining a 50 than earning 600 exp to gain the General rank than 1200 for General grade 2 and so on.
I’ve tried a handful of times. My friends are trying to get me back. I just played 3 games of Attrition. It seems like a decent enough game type, but AR starts in this game are so unfun I don’t know how to even express it at this point. It’s like they designed a pretty good game and said, “how can we ruin this?” AR starts is how. They are so uninteresting. Every fight becomes who-shot-who first and spam from across the map. I know that this has been discussed to death at this point, but the AR is so overpowered in this game that it actively makes me not play the game. I just played for the first time in 2 weeks and I will now be taking another break. AFTER 3 GAMES. It’s ridiculous.
There are tons of redemption stories in the industry.
Destiny, Rainbow 6 Siege, No Man’s Sky. Hell even top charter CSGO had a rocky start.
When things get fixed, adjusted, and content is added I have no doubt Halo Infinite could double its current population if not triple. It will take time though.
My friends are all playing apex and another game I forget the name of… it really sucks to have to play with people I don’t know. I’m just finding people with mics to play with…
sometimes I get messages of people that heard me during the game and they explain that nobody hears them and I have to tell them how to turn their mics on in the settings… it’s really annoying
I might return to Infinte, in a year after I finish my collections in MCC and Infinite finally manages to reach a “complete” state where all the core systems and game modes are present and well thought out.
I definitely will not. It took them no-time at all to polish a system for taking our money - yet the product itself is only barely functional. Ergo, I will not be returning. I will stick to MCC. When friends ask me how “The new Halo” is, I tell them MCC is better. Those who have taken the plunge tend to agree with me. Halo Infinite isn’t worth the effort anymore.
Yep I don’t even mention this game in any positive manner anymore. I’m DONE telling friends to hop on and play when we have MCC to play. Screw this junk game and this awful lazy developer! Their time needs to END NOW.
Studio 117 is just my idea of a PROPER Halo development studio. Studio 117 being shortened to S117, a reference to the Master Chief himself, instead of the back-stabbing 343 Guilty Spark that 343i surprisingly aligns with all to well of being a betrayer to those they make promises with.
343 Guilty Spark says : “Two Betrayals? Why stop at just two? I will betray you a third time as well Reclaimer!”
Master Chief Petty Officer John-S117 says : “You know me. When I make a promise…”
Cortana / The Fanbase : “You keep it.”
343 Industries was put together out of industry veterans from mutliple other studios that made other FPS games in the past. And oddly enough, the recruiting department INSISTED on bringing in talent that HATED Halo. Their intent was to bring in fresh new ideas. Instead Halo 4 was made into Call of Halo, with Halo 5 Gourdians as the follow-up.
