That’s only because you were away from D2 for so long.
I played it for 7 years (5,000+ hours). The game is trash. D2 has had a horrible decline in quality ever since Activision left. Eventually, you will see why, but it will take quite a while until you understand how much is wrong with the game.
D2 is the ultimate grindfest with no end in sight to increasing the grind. Every month Bungie nerfs abilities and weapons while making the enemies more powerful.
Bungie does not care what the players think about the direction of D2 now that they have Gamepass to bring in new players while others are always leaving.
At least for now, what I see in the community and other forums is the same.
People want to turn off mandatory crossplay,No matter the controller or the PC.
PC players feel that the controller is too strong, console players feel that the PC is too strong, cross-platform just because the company wants to push.
I’ve met far fewer cheaters in halo than in apex or csgo orwarzone,And cheating is a problem that cannot be cured in the PC but Halo has too many problems compared to cheating. It must first solve those problems than cheating more than Cheat.
The cheating software provider of 2042 removed the software because people stopped playing for various reasons. There are fewer players in 2042 than in Battlefield 1 and 5, which is determined by the market.
Just as there aren’t as many cheaters as there are cod and apex, I’ve only met a few cheaters in almost 200 hours of playing, and the endless 3v4 and ranking cross-segment new account cheating teams have made me stop playing.
If 343 wants players back, they have to do more than just fix BTB and anti-cheat.
I’m not coming back with almost certainty unfortunately. I bought a Series S to play Halo MCC up to Infinite’s release all last year. Infinite is out. No one* is playing MCC. But no one* is playing Infinite either. And so I have little to no reason to play my Xbox as I don’t play games enough to justify the full up front price, but I also don’t play enough to justify a Game Pass subscription either. Now my Xbox is just gathering dust and I’ll probably sell it. I have a Switch and I have a modded GameCube so I’m pretty happy.
On the PS, because of Sony’s policy, they provide a cross-play Switch, but Microsoft is to promote all them of cross-play, even if the US players turn off cross-platform will also find people,It’s mandatory. Don’t divide the player group. Most of the time, everyone wants the same thing.
Not everyone is a cheater on pc
When I played cod and apex, I also found a lot of console cheaters who used special input devices to cheat. But I think it’s all a minority.
But there are still a lot of casual new players and new whale players on the PC .
Their requirements for 343 are very low and easy to pay, but now because BTB and flashback have bundled garbage cosmetics. They are as unsatisfactory.
I recently used xsx to play MCC search very fast, but many people quit halfway, I am not going to athletics in MCC, I just enjoy it, so at this point I can tolerate.
To tell you the truth, I have never found MCC so funny.
I reached level one hundred on the Infinity Pass, so I won’t be coming back, and their new activity has no appeal.
My problem is I do good on my own. But get bored and burnt out quickly without friends to chat with and team up with. When that doesn’t happen I’m fairly content to play campaign but again I prefer to have someone to chat with and team up with so that rules out Infinite’s campaign but also either my friends are on the wrong platform or dislike the specific campaign I’m asking them to join me in co-op on MCC. So I’m up battle creek without a paddle.
i know there are a lot off problems that halo infinite has.
since its normal that if a game release that problems like this are happing.
but the problem with cheaters is not any normal problem since its a problem that there can have see coming from far away so thats something diffrend when a something like BTB has problems in the game.
if you read the crossplay threads there have been make you see that all players in this communety from xbox to pc have respect for each other.
and there are sure a lot of pc players that play legit the game thats good.
but what a lot of concole players have see is the high risk level what the PC side also has if its about cheating in game’s.
thats why a lot off concole players choose for the same thing.
that there not wane play with any pc player in the matchmaking lobby’s that is the thing a lot off concole players see more.
you cant split the legit pc players from the cheaters pc players with cross platform system in a F2P game.
thats why years ago when 343i told there going to make halo infinite multiplayer F2P a lot off players are against it since its bad for the game.
its the same when there told that there going to add crossplay system in the game a lot of concole players are not happy with that news since there not wane play with the pc Platform since there have a super high risk off getting cheaters in the game.
thats why people have told in that type threads some warning sign’s more what will happnig when the game is going to launch that you get the worst case problems in the game.
and see what you get there are a lot off cheating report’s and threads since launch.
and now a lot off people can tell that there have see it comming all and tell also we have told then its going to end that bad or going to happing.
It would take a lot to get me to come back. At the moment, every time I choose not to play this game it feels like a victory, after the botched release.
For multiplayer, the store would practically have to be fully removed for me to have enough trust to buy the next battle pass. Otherwise I have no confidence that they won’t just siphon content from the battle pass to beef up the store.
This week I’m intentionally not playing at all, in protest of the ridiculous cyberpunk cosmetics.
Campaign? Sadly they’ll never do what I want, which is update this campaign and fill it out and make it better. If we get any more campaign content, it will be a new campaign/new expansion, and it’ll cost money.
I don’t understand how cheat providers get away with it. Why don’t the company sue them? Ethical stuff aside, it’s unauthorized modified content. And if players can find them, companies definitely can. Do they just not bother?
That’s probably fair. I played D1 since beta and completed every flawless raid and trials, then played D2 for Red War, quit, played Forsaken, quit again, and just came back at the end of Beyond Light. Sure, it’s an endless grindfest, but I just hit 1300 in a week, so I can start doing the main challenges and raids. The thing about a grindfest game is it at least gives you something to do. RPG games and f2p gacha games in general are just RNG grindfests. I’m used to them.
Halo Infinite has nothing to grind for, and maybe being used to grinding is what makes it feel so hollow. You have no reason to grind anything once you finish the Battle Pass, unless you care about Ranked gun stickers. Even the Campaign felt empty and lacked a reason to fight enemies standing around doing nothing and not guarding any loot. It felt like it had no replayability. I collected the stuff, did LASO, and uninstalled Campaign since there’s no reason to play it anymore.
Maybe I like grinding in games since it at least distracts me from being bored, and gives me motivation to work for something, even if it’s just cosmetic. Especially if it’s a cosmetic I want to wear. Infinite doesn’t have that. I’ll kill adds for hours in most games just to possibly get better gear or earn money. Why would I bother with adds in Halo Infinite Legendary, that give me nothing, if I can easily just avoid them? Same with grinding PvP. 700 matches since the betas and it’s not fun anymore.
Bounties in Destiny are meh, but Challenges in Infinite are trash. I’ll do bounties all day in Destiny, but I hate almost every single Challenge in Infinite.
Im just waiting for the new event then Im playing a match a day to get my stuff. The current game isnt fun, playlists are lack luster. Wake me when we have modes like Infection
Overall they needed to have integrated more of the previously established characters into the game. The campaign just feels kind of empty and unfinished, and the entire open world was static, there were no changes to it over time.
I enjoyed the music and some of the moments of the campaign, I was so stoked after seeing the opening cutscene, thinking there would be lots of that, but those like 60 seconds are IT.
Most M&K Players have left, which is a big population that won’t be returning unless 343 specifically address the issues of M&K vs controller. Which likely won’t happen.
@D_dawgy I agree it is a very big population – but still far less than consoles. You really think that M&K vs controller is the biggest issue? Or just another issue behind larger things like desync/servers, shop, game modes, etc…??
@D_dawgy Probably true. I cannot say because I’m not on M&K, but some of my friends who are still love it. I’d be fine with a very slight nerf to controller. But really not much. M&K far excels in literally every other aspect.
PC optimization is a bigger issue for that group. hopefully that gets fixed ASAP. That even messed up the entire HCS Raleigh event. Devs should’ve been embarrassed that 100s of thousands of people seen that mess.
