Will Playable Elites at LEAST be released later on

Alongside with an Arbiter side campaign expansion maybe? Y’know Halo isn’t always just about Spartans, the Arbiter missions from halo 2 & ODST was also one other reason why I began loving the Halo franchise even more with being able to play from another perspective.

I’m sure the possibility is there since they didn’t completely shoot it down although whether it’ll actually happen is anyone’s guess. If they were to be added my guess is they’ll be part of a themed update similar to how Halo 5 used to do. Given how weak the reasons against having them implemented are, and the sheer amount of people that want them in there’s probably a good possibility of them making the cut down the line. Or maybe it’s a resource issue? Maybe they’re just focusing all of their resources on making sure the game launches in a decent state and assuming all goes well they’ll look towards putting freed resources into developing stuff like this.

The thing that concerns me is that they mentioned a part of the reason why playable elites wouldn’t be added is because “competitive” reasons. Last time I checked games are played to have fun, not to no life every waking minute just to master some unnecessary quirk for PvP. We’ve seen what listening to sweats did with Halo 5’s multiplayer, and how they twisted what could’ve been something decent into an illogical convoluted mess.

Given their stressing this is a chief game, and that they said they had no plans for playable elites, they’d have to pull a whole 180 to make an arbiter campaign later.

I don’t see why it would be so difficult. They have Elite models, considering they have the resources to make 100s of spartan armors surely they can make new Elite variants.

Reach never had playable elites in campaign, yet it had playable elites in multiplayer. The campaign doesn’t need to have playable elites ham fisted in, but there is absolutely no reason for multiplayer to not have the option to play as an elite. Multiplayer is a separate entity from the campaign, why should the multiplayer be held back by something entirely unrelated to it?

I really hope it’s not for the reasons of competitive esports for the removal of elites, Halo was always more than that for me.

At least make a playable elite/brutes or anything to spice out the diversity than only just playing as a spartan for multiplayer. They even have the assets for it, why not?

Exactly, at the same time there should be Dual Wielding in the campaign. The Multiplayer’s strict balancing requirements shouldn’t have to hold back Campaign.
