I’m not sure how making Multiplayer cross-platform for Infinite will be fair to Xbox players or to PC players. Xbox players have aim assist, while PC players have to actually aim (I’m not saying Xbox players can’t aim its just PC players have more control over where they aim). This may put Xbox players at a disadvantage because I’ve played a few MCC games and whenever a PC player is in the game I’m in, they usually dominate. Or it may put PC players at a disadvantage by making the aim assist a bit too powerful. Not sure how this will be implemented in Infinite but it is just something to worry about.
You do know the MCC has crossplay already, right?
It’s definitely not an issue.
I know that because I’m playing on Xbox while my friends play on pc and neither of us has had
faced anything we wouldn’t be able to handle.
So no, it definitely is not something to be worried about, since it works just peachy already in the MCC.

Infinite has input based matchmaking, so the issue of aim assist shouldn’t be an issue as the people you play against will be using the same input method. There are definitely other issues with crossplay though as we have seen in the MCC.
kb+m players say its unfair bc the aim assist is too strong for control players (can confirm as i play both) and control players say its unfair bc kb+m players can aim better(can also confirm but i suck). it just balances out and both can have a good time in social playlists.
and more on that, its easier to aim on controller if you’re bad, but the skill ceiling is way higher on kb+m, but it’s harder to be good on kb+m.

Keyboard and mouse.
They are saying it is easier to be decent at the game with a controller than it is a keyboard and mouse, so console players have the advantage at first. However, you can only go so far with a controller and at some point the keyboard and mouse takes over as there is a wider skill gap once you have mastered it. You can aim a lot quicker than you could with a controller as the player needs to move their stick across the screen whereas for a keyboard and mouse it’s instant.
It all depends on aim assist really. If it’s too strong, then controller will always win. If it’s too weak then controller players won’t stand a chance.

This is a major assumption. People who play Valorant and CS GO will spank in this game however it depends on the balancing 343i make. I honestly will probably just turn off crossplay on the Xbox if I find it as an issue and only will use KB&M for crossplay when I play on the PC.

uhhh… PC players dominated a match in MCC? Man, I don’t know about that lol

First of all you are talking about PC Players and Xbox Players and that is wrong, because we will be able to play with a mouse and keyboard on Xbox and with a controller on a PC, so… No matter your system, you will be able to choose the way you want to play the game.
Second, they said already that you will have the option to only play with players playing with the same controls as you, basically if you are playing with a controller you can choose to only play with people playing with controllers and if you play with a mouse and keyboard you will have the option to only play with people using a mouse and keyboard, no matter what system you are playing on.

Yeah you explained it perfectly haha. I’m only now realizing how unclear my comment was in some parts lmao

Not necessarily. I only play controller on MCC as it’s just much easier. The aim assist is extremely strong. You also wouldn’t really know if you came across something you couldn’t handle because how do you know the guy you just lost to was using a controller or mouse? Coming from someone whos played pretty much exclusively PC for the past 4 years I’m pretty good at PC shooters now and I can flat out say Halo is easier with a controller. Along with COD. That’s just how they’re designed. Slow unprecise shooters with heavy aim assist. It was also a big deal not long ago when streamers were playing MCC and complaining about controller. It really just IS that good.
Edit: I really don’t care about it though in social playlists. I’m not saying it’s a big deal but there’s definitely a difference and controller more than likely has an advantage in most situations. Ranked should absolutely be input based.
I’ve read other posts saying Infinite will have input-based matchmaking? Not too sure if this is confirmed. I do believe that PC players will dominate In vehicular combat, have you seen the control PC players have over banshees?
However, I’m pretty sure there will be an option to match with these players if chosen to. I don’t see this as much of a problem because MCC has coped with it well.
