Well hearing voices is an important point in the Forerunner Trilogy of books and remember when John could hear the Ur-Didact’s voice in his head and Cortana didn’t hear anything? This point gets overlooked but I feel it is foreshadowing something major for the future.

Aren’t all Graveminds connected in a way? Even through time? After all the Gravemind from Halo 2/3 had memories from Graveminds back during the Forerunner-Flood War. So we can assume even if we discover a new Gravemind(Or even a Keymind) it would have memories of all the ones previous.

Same memories, different bodies. That sums it up, yeah.
Hearing the Didact’s voice, and surviving the Composer were only the beginning of what abilities John gained from his accelerated evolution. I believe he may have the Geas of the Iso-Didact within him, and this is what the Libarian awakened. So, I think John will continue to hear the voice of the Didact to some extent.
But it’s what other abilities that he may have now that intrest me more. Whatever they may be…

I honestly hope that he doesn’t have any other abilities than the two we saw in Halo 4. After all, the main purpose of that evolution was to make him immunized to the Composer. I think the only reason John could hear the Didact, and not Cortana, was because the Didact was communicating directly to him.

Well exactly, even though we killed the Gravemind at the end of Halo 3 he can still return in Halo 5 and have all its predecessors memories going all the way back to the Timeless One. Gravemind and the Flood vs The Didact/Jul’s Covenant vs UNSC/Allied Covenant would be an interesting dynamic.
