Will other classic weapons return in Multiplayer?

This is taken off from Halo 5 Guardians, will other classic weapons make a return in Multiplayer? For example: In Halo 5 Guardians, We got the Halo 2 BR and The Halo 1 Pistol WAY after the release of Halo 5 Guardians. Will this be the case for this game, with other classic weapons?

I don’t think they’d need to bring back old weapons as long as they make them correct in Infinite.

I really hope they do! I love some of the older weapons especially the pistol from halo Combat Evolved!

Where to begin. You could add most all past games, including classic missing weapons with several stat adjustments, added effects and so on.
Also seems to be lore/ canon details about things in the customization menus, so thats great!

Now for the weapons I list below. They should be CAREFULLY added to MP, especially competive a few at the time. Maybe flight/ beta test new and old weapons ( + variants ) before adding in Competive. Social playlist could be created as a testbed aswell as custom games and in Weapon Drill areas under " testbed/ improvised/ returning weapons ". Balance is key so it dosent mess up the sandbox. Also new and old returning weapons from both eras could be introduced in Campaign by new mission packs, expansions, seasons and so on. Another great way to give room in the weapon sandbox and work out the kinks :slight_smile:

Alot of sandbox room to include weapons and not making redudant by adjusting:

Range
Range/dmg drop off
Dmg
Max ammo
Mag/ fuel/ battery size
Reload speed
Melee attachments + proper bonus melee dmg for those
Effects on shots like H:CE plasma rifle stun, perfect to make several old an new plasma weapons more distinct
Alt fire
Velocity
Idle animations, showing the differences, inside of weapons, glimpse on how they operate.

I guess its “heresy” to say some Reach weapons are classic.
But I want and appreciate to see ( we got 10 years of Halo Infinite, so opportunities! ):

DMR
Needle Rifle
Plasma Repeater
Carbine
Flamethrower both 1st person and third person, wheres 3rd person variant have alot more fuel since heavier
Heavy machine gun, aka Jorges, 3rd person
Smaller Needler maybe, less mag but better homing
Brute plasma rifle, but a more brutish appearance + blades
The grenade launcher with EMP

Other weapons from newer games:

Storm Rifle, its like a Plasma Repeater but could have less battery size
Rail Gun
SAW should be balanced so they do not take away the role of turret lmg that you can detach. t lmg could have more ammo
Any of the Promethean weapons but more Forerunner like aestehetics, like from Legends, Origin parts. Again their style could be explained by that they are warrior- servant/ Promethean stylings.
Sticky detonator, alt fire could be wider area but less dmg sticky nade.
Adding the DMR/ Carbine here aswell since they are in both eras.

Wow you really went in depth with this I like that, but I still believe we will get “dlc weapons”.

Halo Infinite, they want it to be a ten year game. If it makes them serious bread I can imagine we will be seeing a whole lot of older content, maps, weapons, armour, elites, gametypes, assassinations, etc etc.

I think this game plays more like the older games too so 1:1 scale remakes wouldn’t be out the question for most maps either. If they can make the game feel like the idler Halo’s too we could have some great legacy playlists. Like MCC but with great graphics.

Personally I hope old weapons and vehicles come back at some point.

I also hope the vehicle cores implies that we could change the model of said vehicle. So we could get a Halo CE Warthog or a Halo 3 Chopper. But with the exact same stats as the normal one.

Same with weapon cores. It would be nice to be able to use any variant of the battle rifle. With the same stats.

It’s a F2P live service game. Guarantee lots of additional weapons will be added after launch, including classic ones. That way, even if it’s not pay to win or anything and you don’t have to unlock the weapons themselves, they can keep adding an endless number of s̶k̶i̶n̶s̶ ahem coatings for them, unlocked via $ and grinding
