I think with this update and continues support from 343 that the Master Chief Collection will become more active and popular than Halo 5. What do you guys think? What games will you be playing?
I’m not sure of the current numbers, but I think there are a lot more H5 players than MCC right now.
With MCC going to Gamepass, it’s certainly possible that it could rival H5 for total players.
I finished all the H5 achievements, and I am not too worried about Spartan Rank, so I will be spending my time in MCC working on MP achievements there.
Whichever one has the more robust promotion and/or competitive scene will be more popular.
Gamepass will give it a noticable boost in numbers, that’s for sure. Having access to a “free” version of the MCC will tempt a bunch of people who originally sat it out to join in. Can it surpass H5’s current numbers? Well, we will find out in september.
Really hard to tell without population numbers for either game. However H5 does get more viewers on Twitch, albeit just barely.
Tough to say. I wouldn’t be surprised if MCC did since it has better content imo. More so the love for H3.

Not sure, it’s like part of the reason I don’t play MCC much these days is because the long wait times for matchmaking plus a lot of people aren’t even going to be aware of this new update, will just assume that MCC will stay the way it is but there are some of us that like to spread the word but I think once I’ve hit 152 on H5…then I think I’ll be mostly back to MCC.

That’s dedication. Being able to stick with halo 5 all the way to rank 152! There is no way I could play anymore halo 5

Yeh I guess it is but Halo 5 stress’s me out, thankfully only 2 more to go. Kind of makes me wish MCC had a proper system similar to Inheritor so I can feel like there’s some progress besides achievements.
I don’t think it will pass Halo 5, but It doesn’t really need to. I would love for the population to go up thoguh so I can enjoy more playlist.
I think it will, especially with the hype behind Halo Infinite. Halo 5 wasn’t the greatest in terms of campaign but the multiplayer is fun but it still doesn’t capture the classic feel of Halo which is what I think most people want. So yeah, maybe a lot of newcomers originally not going to get the MCC will join in, as well as veterans(Hopefully). I’ve been a fan of Halo for years and I’m actually planning on getting the MCC soon all because of the update.

Especially a “fixed” version of the game.
I think it will, considering the desire for the classic Halo feel and the hype behind Halo Infinite.
Considering MCC was neutered at birth it’s mice to see 343 fixing it now after 4 years of matchmaking crap. And yes, I’ve played it all 4 years

I hope it does. There are four games you can play in one and a lot of fun experiences you can have while playing online. I am going to be introducing a friend to halo on Tuesday and we are gonna start in the Halo 1 campaign.
I doubt it. H5 has more players and isn’t as old as MCC. Plus, it’s more appealing to modern gamers (not to say I like H5 more.)
It will definitely be more popular with me. I haven’t touched or bought Halo 5 and probably never will. I only find myself playing Halo 1, 2 and 3 classic with some Reach and ODST thrown in there from time to time.
