This was my favorite game mode in Reach and the most fun. Sacrificing this for Flood in infection was rough in the transition to H4. I know there will be Spartans vs Elites Slayer, but does that include invasion and invasion slayer with objectives?
Am I the only one who really wants this to return?
I agree, I feel Invasion… Being promoted as this big gametype for Halo: Reach really got the shaft. Bungie just sort of ignored it, and 343 did too little too late by deciding to suddenly try to revamp it toward the end of Halo: Reach’s life cycle. The gametype was great, and was by far my favourite part of Halo: Reach. It offered something different, as did many of the other gametypes such as Headhunter or Stockpile. All of which, received the shaft.

I’d like it if they combined Invasion with Dominion. Sangheili would have plasma auto-turrets and Spartans would have the usual ones. Instead of bases scattered all over, they’d be set up at chokepoints similar to how Invasion played on Spire and Boneyard in Reach. Spartans claim a “base”, their turrets and defenses / weapon drops are UNSC based. For Sangheili it’s Covenant based.
Both gametypes were awesome, and were what I spent the most time in during Reach and 4 (Action Sack and BTB after Dominion was axed…), so why not roll both into one? Take the best aspects from the two and make a new Invasion from it?
Obviously this might not happen with H2A (Sans a possible Title Update, but I’m not getting too hopeful here) but it might for Halo 5?
That said, I’d love to see standard Invasion and Dominion (Or at least just Invasion) show up in H2A.
Halo 2’s sandbox is arguably better balanced for a gametype like Invasion compared to Reach. I always remembered how one-sided Reach’s Invasion was, especially in the first phase where the Spartans would pick off the Elites with scoped pistols and DMR’s like it was D-day. Start each side with BR’s/Carbines, SMG’s/PR’s, or PP’s/Magnums, whatever it is, it will probably be a lot more balanced for both sides.
i doubt it will be, but as people have mentioned with the new forge improvement we might be able to do it in customs and if it gets popular enought it may turn into a playlist. would be amazing if it was in since its arguable my favorite gametype. INVASION FOR MCC AND HALO 5!!! lol
