Wow has this site changed. I’ll have to get used to the new layout and features. So anyway, if 343 makes the enough money, they’ll release the campaing for free?
No, that said if you want to play it I’d advise you not to drop any money on this game & instead buy a month of gamepass on your preferred platform when the campaign comes out. Gamepass is fantastic value, which is more than can be said for what we’ve seen of the microtransactions in this game so far.

Doubt it, but it is nice to hope. Destiny makes a lot of money each seasons and have yet to give it out for free. Though I have said 343 in ways are better than Bungie but they are a company and all companies need and want money. And thanks the Bungie other companies have seen how to make money.
I wished that they had stuck to their guns when they said a couple of years ago that they will move away from the mircotransactions.

Considering the monetization scheme is a quadrupl dipping model (DLC, Battle pass, microtransaction, pre-order) I highly doubt that it’ll go free for a very long time. The game is clearly designed to gouge your wallet at every possible opportunity. I don’t see them suddenly not wanting to make every possible cent before people get tired of getting taken for a ride.
They moved away from lootboxes, which is what they said they would do. We’ve known Infinite was going to have MTX almost since the first reveal trailer.
