Back before the game got delayed the first time 343 stated that RTX would not be live at launch of the game because it wasn’t ready, now that the game has had a full year delay there has been no word on this feature, it would be nice to know if RTX is ready for launch of Infinite? Would be really nice for a first time experience to have as many graphical options as possible and RTX on an open world Halo ring would be amazing!
Yeah, that would be nice to know RTX will just give infinite that extra cherry on top.
I think the safe assumption is that no, it will not be available at launch, simply because they haven’t mentioned that it will be. But who knows, it definitely could have made it on board for launch by now.
RTX will definitely not be there at launch. It will probably take a year or more for Ray tracing to be added to the game if it is at all. It’ll probably follow the same path as Doom Eternal which got ray tracing about a year after it initially launched.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it had Super Resolution next year.

At the very least it would be nice if 343 gave clarification, from what I’m remembering they said no for launch last year before they delayed but they didn’t make it out to be something that would take very long to implement, so getting another yes or no from them would be nice especially with all the graphical improvements they made over the year.

This would definitely be in at launch, maybe not Nvidia DLSS, i doubt that this is an Nvidia sponsored title, more likely FSR since it is reportedly very easy to implement. If it doesn’t have FSR I hope at least the TAA is good because there’s no way I’m running this game at full resolution.

It would be nice to hear more about it even if it ends up only being a PC feature or only on PC and Series X. They’re probably too focused on just getting the game shipped for December at this point but maybe we’ll hear more about it when they finally show campaign again before launch.

Leaning towards no but hope so
Id assume no for a few reasons.
Main one, they are trying to make sure it functions well across 6 different things, og xb1, xb1s, xb1x, series x, series s, and then the beas5 of different oc configurations. Id imagine they qre making sure the game functions above all else. Once the games is out, they could then focus on series specific features as that is most likely the least used console. Trust me, as a series x owner i WISH it would have rtx at launch. But id hapily replay it later on.
Another, they did men5ion as you did, rtx would be post launch and they never came out and said rtx is in.
Also, and i know grasping at straws it being a slightly older build, bit the flight didnt have rtx. And even then it looked pretty damn good!

For sure the flight did look really good even without RTX! I’m mostly hoping for it for the campaign side of the game but until they say yes we can only lean more towards no but I’m hoping they will let us know for sure soon.
Honestly I’d probably never consistently play the game with Ray tracing on and lose those FPS; that’s not saying I wouldn’t want to see it but realistically it’s not one of my required features for any games now a days as its not phenomenal for high FPS anyway. Just my thoughts.

The FPS drop actually doesn’t always apply depending on how well the game is optimized for it, in MW2019 I can have all settings fully maxed with RTX on and upscale the game to 8k and still get over 100fps while in Cold War if I turn RTX on it drops me below 50fps on low settings. Game optimization is key for RTX to perform well.

That’s a fair statement; however, so far in regards to the Series X it usually drops down fps, which I’d much rather get my 120fps and lower resolution than have to have ray tracing. But that’s just me where I feel 4k is overrated compared to frame rate. But that’s a slightly different topic.

In terms of 4k vs performance that’s more of a preference thing, RTX should always be an optional toggle for sure, hopefully it’s optimized well enough to perform well with it turned on.
I hope it does, since it was supposed to be an update after the original launch a year ago.
got a Odyssey Neo G9 and a RTX 3090 just for infinites campaign.
