Will halo4 be made on pc

I am wondering if Halo 4 or other halos will be made on pc?

I doubt it but maybe.

None since Halo 2 have, so it’s unlikely. The PC market isn’t what it used to be, so developers and publishers are less inclined to port their games to the PC.

Probably not.

Ever since the Xbox360, the only franchisees that spring to mind on the PC are:
Battlefield, made by DICE.
Civilization, made by Sid Meier.
Empire Earth 3, made by Sold out.
Dawn of War, made by THQ

So the likelihood of a Halo 4 PC is like saying the PC market will rise once again.
sorry

Highly unlikely because they fail to capture the experience (i.e. can’t walk).

Also,

Fall barrier in Halo PC is set higher than in Xbox version. Keyes shoots at dead enemies (IIRC).

No sword flying in Vista. AI scripting problems. Player can’t crouch while moving. AI not getting in vehicle seats.

I’d rather get the Xbox 360 version than deal with another fail port.

MS knows that the Hal series is a console one, not PC.

If ever there was a time when Halo was going to be on both Xbox and PC it would have been with Halo Wars, but there hasn’t been a Halo PC since 2, and I doubt there will be.

Im sorry but that is a very ignorant thing to say, the PC has always had great quality franchises of all genres and still does. Just to name a few you have: WoW,SC,CS,Witcher,DoTA,HL,LoL,SWOTOR,The Sims, ect… in fact I would say the PC market is doing better now than it has in recent years. If you have never played any of those franchises I listed you are missing out, all of those are quality video games and you are only limiting your gaming experiences if you limit yourself to one platform because of foolish reasons(Outside of price which I understand) and that goes for PC and console players.

I would love to see Halo 4 ported to the PC, the Halo CE PC community had some of the greatest mods and community made maps(IE: Timberland) and is still active even today. I feel like PC gaming communties get more out of their games because of mods and such that you still cant get on console. Halo CE and Halo 2 were ported and developed communties(H2 didnt do that well because of it being Vista only)I dont see why H4 couldnt if Microsoft and 343 wanted it to be done.

Sorry, but it’s not going to happen. Xbox needs Halo. It’s one of the only good exclusives it has left.

After seeing the more recent trend of Halo game being released solely for the Xbox (Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary). I doubt it, but wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility.

I do remember Frank O’Connor saying at Halo Fest that they’re focusing only on Console right now but it’s a possibility for the future. I wouldn’t quote me on that though, it’s been a while since I watched it.

Not to mention, Piracy on PC is destroying company confidence in porting their most valued games onto PC. I doubt Microsoft is willing to lose $10 let alone thousands.

If I was -Yoink!- I wouldn’t port it either to be honest. It’s easier and cheaper to keep it on the console since it’s designed for that. (Not saying it was ALWAYS designed for Console, I’m very aware of Halo’s history so don’t start an argument over nothing.)

According to Gabe Newell, owner of VALVe (and Steam), one of the best ways to deal with piracy is to provide a better service than the pirates themselves. If Halo 4 is on multiple platform providers, they could sell many more copies, and piracy would lessen. Some users don’t buy from certain platform providers because they don’t like the company who owns them, such as Origin. I could doubt this happens, though, but it would help tremendously.

Also, Windows 8 will have Cross-platform Xbox Live, so maybe the possibility will increase if Halo 4 is successful enough.

Definately, and I’m all up for that. I’m a bit of a PC gamer myself. Not as much as console but I use Steam here and there for Portal, TF2, GMod etc. I would say yes, give it better security and have it over and done with but I still doubt Microsoft will do that.

Not because I’m against PC Gamers or anything, believe me. I’m far from it.

But just viewing -Yoink!- as a company, it seems unlikely that they’d shell out more money and resources to protect one game or any game that is.

I hope they do though, I’d buy Halo 4 on Xbox for fun, and Halo 4 on PC for modding and machinima.

Don’t count on it.

Actually, yes. It will be made on PC, but not for PC.

Sorry, but no. I’m 99% sure. Even though 343 would earn a lot more cash that way, Halo should remain an XBOX exclusive.

I bet they will after Halo 5 is about to come out lol.

Due to Microsoft blaming pirates for Halo 2 failing (even though it failed because it was a TERRIBLE port) they have pretty much left the PC market, though Xbox Live will be built into Windows 8.

Also PC gaming > Console gaming

Nicely done. (:

> Due to Microsoft blaming pirates for Halo 2 failing (even though it failed because it was a TERRIBLE port)

There was more to Halo 2 than just it port, the editing kit was locked up to the point it was hard to do any thing, also you could reuse the disc key 5 or 6 times before you had to buy another or ask someone for theirs.
Like what ReversingTime said, in order to out do those low life pirates, give a better service, something Microsoft already kind of has a foot in, it’s just a matter of getting them to go all the way. Hell, I could even see Valve and Microsoft striking a deal with each other, and if Halo ever comes to the PC again, I could see it being sold using Steam.

Also, the Xbox does not need Halo, back in the early days of the 360 I would agree with you, but these days, there’s more going for the Xbox than just Halo, there are other Xbox only titles, and there are some things that the Xbox brings to the table that the PC and PS3 doesn’t, like Party chat.
