First, I was not sure exactly where to post this, since it is tying both of them.
At the end of Halo Wars, in the final moments of the credits, Serina speaks the final words of the game, saying “Captain. Wake up. Something has happened.”
So do you think the Spirit of Fire could be returning in any way? Also, the Spirit of Fire crew found the Flood on the shield world, and that was the first encounter with the Flood. But as we know, in Halo CE when the Flood attacked that was the first time the Humans had ever encountered it or known of it. This means that the Spirit of Fire has not returned to the UNSC throughout the main trilogy. And since Serina tells the crew to wake up, we know it is after Halo 3.
Ok one her saying wake up doesn’t mean it was after halo 3 lol. Also the humans had found the flood before it’s just that nobody ever made it out alive to report it to the unsc so it wasn’t the first time in ce they just thought it was.

They would have reported it though if they made it back to UNSC…and judging by the games they have not yet. So if they leave the cliffhanger at the end of the game with those words, yes I am assuming they are in the thick of something again.

Also, when I said “Serina tells the crew to wake up, we know it is after Halo 3,” I was assuming you would take the entire paragraph into context, I did not literally mean those words mean after Halo 3. I just don’t know why they would not have known about the Flood if they returned BEFORE ending of Halo 3, because the crew would have reported it. And where else did they encounter the Flood and die before Halo CE? I never heard of that.
Not to be rude, but can we please stop with the topics about whether every living thing inside the Halo Universe will be in Halo 4. Every gun, map or fart every made in the Haloverse does not deserve to come back.

They could have made it back. Remember in Halo Evolutions, one of the stories shows that ONI could have known about the flood before Halo CE, but they just kept it a secret.

Oh right that’s true. I mean they could have simply just been leaving open for a sequel that does not have to do with the future of anything. Maybe it was before the first game when they returned. Just trying to get some opinions on it.

Right, another thing though which is less canonical and more speculation is since Miranda Keyes died, they may need another important woman in the game which could be Anders.

Yea definitely. I am not even saying I only want old characters, in fact I never said I wanted them, just asking what the community thinks on the possibility that they are. I cant wait for tomorrow lol

You and me both. To be honest, I personally want new characters but even if the community wanted some of them to return, I don’t think 343 would do it. But heh, I don’t make the game.

That’s true, although they might use some of the characters from Glasslands for that. (like Naomi, Osman, and Dr. Halsey, for example)

Yea I am expecting Halsey to be for the first time really featured in a game with Chief.
