I know that in the Halo lore there was supposed to be one small flood infection form that survived within the Spirit of Fire’s cryo chamber or something. SO, this SHOULD infer a return of the flood right? I’m just not sure though, that 343 wants to re-introduce the flood as a threat. Yes, I know that 343 aren’t the ones making Halo Wars 2, Creative Assembly is, but 343 is still in control of Halo’s canon fiction. With halo 6 being the last in the main series, I doubt they want to introduce the flood as a threat this late,
seeing as Cortana is the enemy now. What do you guys think? do you think the flood will make an entrance in Halo wars 2? maybe Halo 6? Maybe in the legendary ending of one of the two, setting up a new story-line?
That teaser in escalation almost seems like a positive sign that the flood will return. When and where seems unknown. I hope they are reintroduced in Halo Wars 2, or maybe in Halo 6. They already have pseudo return in the console version of Spartan Assault.
Halo Wars doesn’t follow suite with the FPS titles. Yes, it’s the same universe, same story, same canon, but they are separate stories being told in different timeframes. Halo Wars shouldn’t be constrained by where the most recent Halo title is doing.

The OG Halo Wars actually has a in game timeline, it takes place like 30 years before the events of Reach. I don’t think anyone knows, except for 343, if this game will follow closely after the events of the first one, or pick a completely new area in the Halo lore to explore.
Almost certainly. I say this because Halo Escalation show the Spirit of Fire abandoned with the flood overrunning it. At the bare minimum they will have to touch on how the SoF became lost.

20 years actually, but close enough. Flood are perfectly viable and Wars 2 should be taking place way before Reach
Technically couldn’t halo wars 2 take place in any possible time frame, not necessarily having to be before reach? who knows how long the spirit of fire was drifting in space, it could land anywhere, say 50 years later, during the same time frame of a later game in the main series

The SoF is found during the events of Halo: Escalation which is during and after Halo 4, I believe.
I encountered another user, Commander Barca on the Promeathian forum. Who presented a very fair point. The SoF is still MIA as of 2558, so whatever they do will have no effect on the current timeline. So flood is still a possibility.

(Score!)
On that point almost nothing they do will affect pre-halo 5 canon, and anything after that is fair game for them, though 343 might try to keep them from interfering to much so that Chief can solve it in halo 6.

Is this gonna be an FPS game or like the first one.
