Apples and Oranges…
Can’t really compare them cause they’re different genres, but I’m gonna say wars 2 will be more fun
Friend, have you ever heard of the expression “comparing apples to oranges”? Because that’s what you’re doing here. It’s really hard to compare an RTS to an FPS, since they’re wildly different genres.
Halo 4 yes, halo 5 lol no way.
You are comparing apples to oranges man.
As two completely different genres, they are incomparable, but as two standalone games, you can definitely compare and make pre-assumptions based on them.
If they can nail Halo Wars 2 like they did with Halo Wars, then it’ll definitely be more enjoyable and have way more replay value than Halo 5, which will essentially make it better. RTS games have a lot less pressure though when it comes to how a game feels to play. As long as it’s smooth, looks beautiful and the options and tools suppiled to us are expansive with attention to detail, then it pretty much wins.
As an FPS, Halo 5 didn’t do it for me, I played it for half an hour the other day which was the first time since a week after release… During then and now I’ve went back to the MCC, which is… kind of ironic.
If they draw upon what Halo Wars did well and just… add to it, keeping it true to the RTS style, then it’ll be hard for it not to be a better game than Halo 5. Knowing the route 343i are taking though, they’ll probably add micro-transactions, add boost packs for your vehicles and squads and make it “modern”, or whatever excuse they use.
You CAN’T say Halo wars 2 is better than Halo 5 or visa versa. Their two different types of games an I will love them both but if I had to pick then most likely halo wars 2

Which ones taste better?

That is subjective. However, when you compare an Apple against an Apple, you can undeniable state that one is sweeter, or larger, or riper than the other.

Then please answer this: Which game do you think will be more fun.
I mostly agree with this

Still pretty much the same question. Sometimes I prefer RTS, other times I prefer FPS.
I am more excited for Halo Wars 2 right now because it’s been so long since the last one.

Apples taste better hands down, but if you make orange juice, man that stuff is good, but oranges by itself aren’t that appealing, so a better phrase would be apples and cookies, ones a dessert, the other is a snack, not the best analogy but I couldn’t think of a better one.
Unlikely as the original Halo wars ( now available as a backwards compatible title) was a RTS game the sequel will probably be the same but it will be bigger , better than the original with new vehicles such as the Jackrabbit and that massive tank it’s gonna be total madness

“Apples and Oranges” is an actual expression used to point out the problem of comparing two dissimilar things. We did not just make it up.
I prefer RTS games because I feel like their 1v1s have more depth compared to every other genre. Think of a 1v1 on Call of Duty. I wouldn’t think that would be more entertaining then a 1v1 on a RTS game. Plus this thread just does not make sense really (no offense). You are asking if people prefer FPS over RTS or vice versa in a RTS forum thread for Halo Wars 2…
