This goes for everything. Map memorization, weapon experience, etc… This could maybe be a bad thing for those that play the game at launch and did not have any experience with anything beforehand. What can 343 do to help noobs that aren’t insiders?? Other than the academy. They will gain experience through academy but will not have a balanced experience until they get better. So we need to be kind and not discourage newcomers.
bro not everything will be in these flights. Plus, we’re testing out the game, we deserve to keep the prior knowledge.

This seems to be the entire reason bots are in the game. Hop into pvp after. Really good thing to have imo.
Not really. Even in the MCC flights a lot of things changed in final releases. Furthermore you don’t get all that long to actually play during flighting.
I reckon people who are playing any Halo game all the time right now are going to get a bigger advantage than people who only played flighting.

I’m saying when the game launches, how will noobs keep up with all us experienced players through previous games/these flights without getting discouraged?
I believe that this first initial flight is looking at the bots functionality in a larger pool of players across multiple platforms and software.
There’s not really going to be much of a gap in skill other than that of an actual skill gap. The initial flight is being opened for 100,000 players as well, that’s a significant number, and the additional flights after that will only add more and more.
Like the MCC flighting, I’ve never noticed an unbalanced game due to others playing more of the flight than others who didn’t/couldn’t.

What about halo vets that play Halo 5 and MCC as well as these flights play against those that have never played a Halo game?

why does it even matter? This is why there are things in place to ensure players start matching against players of their skill level. Someone’s always going to be better than you, and even the best of the best have bad days. At the average level…you gotta accept this. Otherwise why bother playing at all? (Average just mean a general player in the game. Not a professional)
You still have custom games to go in their yourself and look at the call outs, figure out skill jumps, maybe find some that haven’t been found…figure out the weapon spawns…memorize stuff…practice the grenade skill shots on the map where you might forsee players hiding etc etc.
Take it into your own hands…you gotta help yourself sometimes

You’re right I guess with enough practice all these newer players can get up to speed. I just hope that those that are more advanced players don’t talk too much crap to those that are less or not experienced.

Then it would be the same concept if I’d never played a Destiny game before and Destiny 3 came out and I got the game day one alongside people that have played since D1. I’m going to get rolled by players who know what’s happening.
So what can the player do if they’re worried about not having a good time in a franchise they haven’t played before? Well for starters I would definitely be looking at playing the previous games in the series to get a better understanding of what I’m in for.
People aren’t going to not buy the game because they’re afraid of getting beat, I can’t go to culinary school and become Gordon Ramsay after a day.

They can be reported. It’s up to the individual to take that into their own hands. Will People talk crap? Absolutely. These are human beings you’re talking about, and some humans are disgusting pathetic individuals that need to sadly validate themselves through some very questionable means.
But you need to accept something. That some players will never “get up to speed”. Some people play because they just love playing halo. They don’t spend hours upon hours learning the ins and outs of maps or ANYTHING like that. Even a player that does…you can watch all the pro footage you want…every single YouTube video…every streamer breaking down stuff…and still not get much better. Some people are just gifted at doing things. This goes for everything in life. We’re all born different.
At the end of the day…this is going to be an online game…with various playlists existing for the different types of players. If you’re an individual worrying over someone being better than you because they played a bit more than you from the start…you’re going to have so much more to worry about as time goes on…because if you put in 4 hours a day on the game…what if another person puts 8 in?
Theres going to be additional modes to have some chaotic fun in I’m sure…I think you may be over thinking this way too much.
There are always players that will come into the game later on throughout its lifecycle and they will always be at a bit of a disadvantage compared to people who play every day or have played since launch. Bot matches will help a great deal in this regard as it gives new players a way to get used to map flow and gameplay before facing actual people. Even still it is unavoidable to completely negate the effect of early adopters to a game having an advantage from just playing the game. A learning curve is a good thing for the game though and all we can really do as players is go through that learning curve at our own pace.

Ayyye it will be like every other game you play that someone has played before you…come on guy. I’m new to apex…well start 4 months ago. Guess what. I’m pretty badass even over guys that have more time then me now

They have The Academy to train up. If the bots are as good as they say, the noobs will be able to get to a good level in a short amount of time. Being completely honest, discouragement is inevitable, but we can try and lower the level of it by helping out the new players and getting them near our level. This is going to be the most accessible Halo ever and we, as a community, need to welcome all the newcomers (especially the CoD Warzone dropouts) with open arms and a smile!
Assuming bots make their way into multiplayer at varying difficulties the drop into multiplayer won’t be as bone grinding as Halo 5’s was. Not only that, but the academy isn’t a limited time thing either. We may come out with knowledge of certain maps, but weapon balance will very likely change when the game officially ships. Even then the “advantage” Insider’s will have will be relatively small anyway. Imo this isn’t an issue to be concerned with.

Map fly through where they do a video to show around the map and where the weapons spawn, with a couple of hints of helpful jumps and key areas on the map.
If players care about a more equal playing field then they should play Vs bots before heading into matchmaking and head into forge for the various maps to look at the spawns and test out jumps on the map.
Finally, players can watch all the flight videos as I’m sure there will be 1000s of videos on YouTube.
Realistically though the good players will still be good without knowing anything about the maps and will pick it up as they go along. Don’t forget the game will likely highlight the power weapons for you and the personal AI will advise when they are close to respawning.
I’m pretty sure there will be quite some streamers and content creators in the flights who will upload gameplay and theorycraft out of their mind. With only he few minutes of gameplay available at the moment there is already hours of content made discussing every little aspect.
And let’s all be honest; the beauty of a new game is exploring it and figuring things out not instantly macro’ing for an e-sport K/D ratio. The game will probably be tweaked around in the first half year for balance so participation if a flight will mean nothing in the long term if you really want to master the game.
Just enjoy the launch and all the silly moments that will come with it like like launching yourself off the map with the grapple, repulsoring a sticky nade on a teammate and 360 skewering someone across the map.
