Hey guys, I’m wondering if it’s possible for Halo Infinite to be delayed to sometime next year?
I know we 343 is going to show Halo Infinite this month, but that could mean anything…It could just be another trailer or a super short camping “on the rails” demo of sorts.
343 confirmed in their latest update that they will show “Halo Infinite campaign” - this worries me, because they should be showing wayyyyyyyy more than campaign at this point if the game is slated to release this holiday.
I just find it strange that we haven’t really seen any gameplay or have any info on the game at all. & with 343 confirming that only campaign will be shown on the 27th, idk to me it just screams that they don’t have a finished product.
Nice click bait. I dont believe they will delay the game because of a previous post back in April confirming the game is on track to release at launch.

I wasn’t trying to click bait anyone - I’m asking the question, but I did change the title of the topic since you felt the need to be overly critical about it.

Much better! Wasn’t meaning to be hateful or anything I just didn’t want anyone seeing that as misleading information on the forums.

Yeah, I can see how that is misleading. Thanks for pointing it out
Series X would probably have to be delayed as well then. Infinite has been advertised as a launch title for it and Microsoft would probably force it to release onthe Series X launch day anyway (wether or not thats a good thing)

Phil Spenser (head of xbox studios) said that they would not delay the launch of the console for any game. He specifically referenced Halo in saying that. Which is what worries me. BUT the mega contrux toys are in stores, so that does lead me to believe that their road map for Halo Infinite is going as planned

I think they are just over correcting from the Halo 5 mistakes. They advertised the -Yoink- out of that game, especially the campaign, and then people were very disappointed. I’m not sure if they realized it was because the ads were misleading and that the story wasn’t that great. They way Infinite seems to be going it seems more like they think that advertising anything at all was the problem. But that’s ok. I would rather it just drop and let us all see what it is instead of getting us hyped or installing early biases in us
Highly unlikely. Phil Spencer has said repeatedly that Series X won’t be delayed, no matter what. Infinite is a very crucial game for Halo and the Xbox brand. Microsoft knows they need to kick this gen off with a bang. Is it possible that maybe the game gets delayed into early next year? Sure, but I don’t think they’d risk not having it be the launch title for Series X. I’m 95-99% confident the game launches this year, likely mid to late November.

Yeah, that’s what worries me. Why would Phil say that if Halo Infinite was unquestionably on track to launch?

Xbox games studios is working on many games right now. I think it’s some of those other games that are likely to be delayed.
U right i don’t think halo infinite get delayed Microsoft won’t let 343 delay the game and Xbox series x will release late 2020 or 2021 not in possible this will happen

Phil still has his head stuck in an uncomfortable place after pushing Kinect so hard on everyone. The roadmap might be going to plan, doesn’t mean the final product is.
Edit: This reminds me of the One launch, replace Kinect with the new Game Pass push and you have the same problem. They are trying to sell something to consumers without actually selling it, just telling us how great it is.

The “most powerful” narrative collapsed during that last show, at least for the immediate future. In a way, I think it’s worse than 2013.
As often as they mention Gamepass now, you could probably make a drinking game out of it.

The quote was framed by a question around developers working from home in the pandemic.
These are uncharted waters… and I’m sure all studios are feeling the pinch.
So, he was very careful not to specifically commit a release date to any game (first party or otherwise).
I th I no the game will release when its intended to, along side the release of the new Xbox. However I do believe the game will not be released with all its features. But they just better hope the multi-player is functional this go around.
