So, on Sunday we got the announcement of Halo Infinite. Over the years they’ve been building a completely brand new engine, the Slipspace engine. At the end of the Xbox E3 conference, Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft is working on the next generation Xbox. People have speculated the Halo Infinite won’t be releasing on Xbox One, but one the next gen Xbox. However, Frankie came out and said that Halo Infinite will indeed be releasing on Xbox One. I think that Halo Infinite will be a cross-gen game. This connects to my theory that Halo Infinite will be a hub for all future Halo content, and they won’t want to leave some fans in the dust. What do you think, could Halo Infinite be cross-gen?
Yes
says exclusively on xbox one and pc also depends on when infinite releases which is probably next year at the earliest I believe if it wasn’t this gen they probably weren’t gonna reveal the game
It will be on the merit that MS wants to maintain forward and backwards compatability, so it’s fairly likely it will work on the new one out of the box.
So yes, the game should be cross gen and I’d wager they’d up the graphics for the new hardware much like what we’ve seen with the One X and MCC/H5.
Yes. They’re not going to limit who can play the game: they’re going big on this one and limiting who can play makes no sense with that goal.
im pretty sure they will also release it for next gen…
I believe it will be as that seems to be the direction that Microsoft is going in general with backwards compatiblity. A game that releases on one console will be available on the next gen one.
